Today is the 99th anniversary of the birth of Al Capp, creator of Li'l Abner. With that strip he also created the high-school tradition of Sadie Hawkins Days (usually November 13th) and Sadie Hawkins Dances, which have been used as plot devices in at least one Daria fanfic. Mystik Spiral has been known to perform at Sadie Hawkins dances, as you clearly see at left.SFMB is now being molested by WOWbots. How are they getting through?

ReplyDeleteI have to agree that his personal life left something to be desired, but that is sadly the case with most people. Still, it is good to celebrate his work and its influence on the world, which I think was largely positive. I read Li'l Abner as a child and liked it.
