Leaping Into a Rare Holiday
Jodie and Mack are clearly having a super Leap Day, and considering this day only comes around once every four years I'd say that's a good thing. So, to all of the Daria fans out there, go ahead and take a flying leap!
Although today is National Toast Day, I assume it's completely permissible to have toast more often than every four years. Indeed, Daria can recommend it as a great remedy if you end up at a greasy spoon after a long road trip full of humiliation and carsickness.

Leap? Leap! Leap Leap!
Jodie and Mack are leaping in honor of Leap Day, and you can tell someone to go take a flying leap too, if you want! Or just enjoy the random extra day tacked onto this year's calendar. I just want to know one thing, though. If we were going to get an extra day, why did it have to be a Monday?
Fanfic Update!
- Action Stories #6: Struck by Lightning, by NightGoblyn (parts 4 and 5): "'This is amazing,' Dr. Klein muttered, staring at her computer display. 'I'm going to have to revise some of my theories, and I'm not the only one. This could mean that we were in error about some of the fundamental underpinnings of scientific thought.'" (Part 5)
- Cynic and a Six-String, by fringeperson (part 2): "Daria didn't get to meet the infamously sleeping elder brother until about a week after the self-esteem classes were behind them."

- The Geek's Expose, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 1): "At the Morgendorffer's house, they were watching a home video, from Daria's third birthday. Young Quinn blew out the birthday candle's first. 'Hey! You're ruining my birthday cake!' Young Daria said."
- Hana Hou, Pt 2, by metameric1 (parts 7 and 8): "She looked down towards the tiny cove, and even in the bright, early afternoon light the scene was surreal." (Part 8)

Leap? Leap?! Leap Leap!

It was also on this day in 1960 that the first Playboy Club opened in Chicago. This is probably Upchuck's most revered day in history, right up there next to the night of Jodie Landon's graduation party.

Happy Leap Year Day!

Anyway, a new page has been added to DariaWiki: Science fiction! Please have a look at it and feel free to expand upon it at length. I have a few more things to add to it, but it's almost done as is. Westerns, horror, and some other major genres for classifying Daria fanfic are still to come. It is my secret hope that pages like this will encourage people to read older fanfics when they are displayed in original ways.
Here's an interesting mini-essay, on a blog called Conservatory Bound: "An Ode to Trent Lane." Interesting. Anyone else have this problem?
Another fan club, too, on Bebo.com: Daria Morgendorffer
More soon.
