Upchuck needs to watch where he's swinging that cutlass on International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Even his parrot is giving him a dubious look. Everyone brush off their "Arrrr"s and "Ahoy there"s for a fun holiday!

If that's not enough excitement, you could also celebrate National Dance Day, but I think Upchuck should put down any sharp objects before trying to join in. Jane will spend today thinking back fondly on her tribute to Jackson Pollack and the week she forgot to sleep.

Fanfic Update!
  • Another Night At Daria's, by WildDogJJ (part 1): "That's Amore Italian Restaurant is one of the most romantic restaurants in Lawndale. Inside, the decor includes murals of such romantic scenes as the canals of Venice, the streets of Rome, Cafe's in Naples and beaches in Sicily. The restaurant has an in-house band playing romantic music and a dance floor. Each table is decorated with a lit candle and a red rose in a jar. At one table Quinn and Jim were on a double-date with Daria and Link."

  • Doctor Who: Changes in Time and Space, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 2): "The Doctor and her companions were still behind the trees in the park as they watched foot soldiers march out of the Drahvin starship. Felicia was worried. 'What are we going to do?'"

"Governmental THUGS!"

I don't think Mr. DeMartino is enjoying Citizenship Day, but that's only because Ms. Barch called INS on him again. You'd think after the first false alarm they'd be a little more discerning, and yet....

Today is also the anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which started in 2011. For a fun switcheroo on the movement, see CharlesRB's "Occupational Hazard," in which the Landons occupy Dega Street. Yes, that's right. Now go read it!

Happy National Women's Frenemy Day!

Helen and Linda are catching up for National Women's Friendship Day, and by "catching up" I mean "competing until they both want to kill each other." It's a good thing they're talking over the phone rather than in person, and not just because of the pandemic!

Today is also National Linguine Day, and Jake's going to whip up a batch of his best pasta. It's probably Trent's favorite dish, as long as it hasn't oxidized.

Fanfic Update!
  • The Tell-Tale Art, by welltemperedclavier (COMPLETE!): "Jane bowed before some clients, but not this one, not Haldskyr Bear-grip. It's not that she didn't respect him—but Nords didn't like bowing. Better for her to stand and watch as Haldskyr studied the three-quarters portrait she'd spent the last month working on for him."

Mrs. Johannsen and I wish you all a great International Chocolate Day, although it's up for debate which of the two of us is a bigger fan of the sweet treat. I will admit to never turning myself into a giant chocolate bar, so I guess I forfeit.

Today is also National Peanut Day, so you can mix up your chocolate with some peanut butter! Or take a cue from Daria and sit on a peanut butter sandwich. Or listen to Trent sing about peanuts that have hijacked your brain. Totally your call!

Quinn's More Worried about Fashion Emergencies

Daria is calling 9-1-1 for Emergency Number Day, but the emergency in question is that everyone and everything sucks except her. So I don't think the dispatcher will be impressed. Jake, meanwhile, is still hoping that Helen will remind him what, exactly, is the number for 9-1-1.

We also observe 911 Remembrance Day today, the anniversary of the World Trade Center and Pentagon tragedies in 2001. The Angst Guy wrote his first fanfic, "Nine-Eleven and Counting," on the subject and I highly recommend it.

Fanfic Update!
  • Raiders of the Lost Arkngthand, by WellTemperedClavier (COMPLETE!): "Ash-tainted rain poured down from a sky the color of rust as Daria marched uphill, drawing her mom’s old woolen robe tighter around her. Thunder pealed in the distance, booming across the jagged hills and blackened gullies of the Ashlands."

  • The Show Must Go Off, by Kristen Bealer (COMPLETE!): "Things didn't get any better over the course of the next few weeks."

  • You Must Not Know Who He Is, by Charles RB (COMPLETE!): "Tommy Sherman was leaning against a bank of lockers and checking out the students, which Daria would have continued to ignored if one of those lockers hadn't been hers."

Guess She's Not Going to the Teddy Bear Picnic

Daria's not exactly thrilled about Teddy Bear Day, but I don't blame her. I've seen much cuter teddy bears than that! Try harder, bear.

Today is also the tenth (tenth?) anniversary of the start of my career as guest blogger on this very blog. TAG's coming back any day now, I'm sure of it. (waits) Any day now....

I Hear There are 99 Bottles on the Wall!

Upchuck has come prepared for National Beer Lover’s Day because he has the beer and he considers himself a lover. What everyone else thinks of him is another matter, but if he's offering free beer he probably won't get too many insults. Until he runs out of beer, that is.

Today is also the anniversary of ESPN, which launched on this day in 1979. I'm sure Kevin appreciates this one, because it means he has a backup if the Pigskin Channel ever goes down.

Fanfic Update!
  • Daria Ravenclaw: The Year of the Owl, by Meester_Lee (parts 36 and 37): "Daria and the other First-year Ravenclaw girls in her dorm were out of the tower and waiting to catch the sleighs for the Hogsmeade station by 9:30." (Part 37)

  • The Show Must Go Off, by Kristen Bealer (parts 2 and 3): "Rehearsals began the following week, and while most of the actors had begun to memorize their lines, the script itself was as unintelligible as ever." (Part 3)

  • Unnamed story (Scenes No Daria fanfic should have: The Closing Walls of Schloss Morgendorffer and Casa Lane), by WacoKid (COMPLETE!): "'Daria?' 'Yes, Trent?' 'We've been dating for a while now.' 'Is that what we've been doing?'"

Does Anyone Actually Like Cheeseless Pizza?

Poor Tom and Daria are super disappointed because today is Cheese Pizza Day and some thoughtless Pizza Prince employee appears to have forgotten to put cheese on their pizza. I'm not going to name any names--Artie--but I have my suspicions.

Today is also Be Late for Something Day, so be sure to celebrate that holiday tomorrow. Get it?

Economics in the City

Mrs. Bennett is either a secret Sex in the City fan or she's really, really into National Skyscraper Day. Either way, she's likely to keep her students' attention (for once) if she's going to teach dressed like that.

Also on this day in 1970, Vince Lombardi died of cancer. I have it on good authority (fine, Kevin. I have it from Kevin, okay?) that he definitely did not go to hell.

Fanfic Update!
  • Bearing the Summer, by Lady Evil (part 7): "Daria couldn’t let things end this way. She had to see Jane, to beg forgiveness for whatever it was she did."

  • Burned Out, by Wrabbit7 (part 23): "Jennifer looked up from the book she was reading, and took in the sight before her. Daria sat, stooped over her notebook, writing."

  • Danny Morgendorffer, by ST91 (part 50): "Over the next two hours, Heather showed Daniel and Quinn much of the college. Daniel, however, considered himself anything but satisfied."

  • Lawndale High: The Next Generation - season 1, by Peridaniel (part 6): "The bright September morning sun shown over Lawndale, many kids basking in its light as they enjoyed the final fleeting moments of summer before they were to go to school that morning."

  • The Show Must Go Off, by Kristen Bealer (part 1): "The end-of-day bell had rung half an hour ago, but the halls of Glenfield Middle School were still surprisingly full. Over two dozen students were milling around outside a door with a sign that read 'PLAY TRYOUTS HERE.'"

If She's Tarzan, Who's Jane?

Looks like Jane is wishing author Edgar Rice Burroughs an extra happy birthday, which he might appreciate if he hadn't been dead for 70 years. Burroughs was the creator of not only the Tarzan books, but quite a few other fantasy/adventure books. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Upchuck is a fan.

It's Pronounced FRONK-en-steen!

Jane is trying out a new style for Frankenstein Day, but I really don't think green is her color. Nice that she got to keep her lipstick, though!

Of course, we wouldn't have Frankenstein without Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, who was born on this day in 1797. Although the author never got mentioned on the show, we do know that Daria has read the book. What she thought of it is anyone's guess.

Fanfic Update!
  • Brittany - Esteem of the Transfer Student, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 2): "Daria Morgendorffer was waiting when Brittany entered the classroom. 'Hi, Daria,' she said cheerfully."

  • Daria: In Another World?, by starwater09 (part 9): "Daria sat alone in her room staring indifferently at a game console trying to come up with an activity to past the time. She'd already finished most of her schoolwork, she already checked out the books she was interested in reading at the library and started to read at least a few of them."

  • Doctor Who - Changes in Time and Space, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 1): "The TARDIS had materialised in a forest. Sabir emerged from the TARDIS first. Though he came from an era when world travel was commonplace (but not as commonplace as later) he had never been to the Azores."

Fanfic Update!
  • Backseat for No One, by EntrancedCat (part 12): "'Mack-Daddy,' Kevin addressed his best friend, confidante and not infrequent advisor early Tuesday morning at their lockers in Lawndale High School."

  • Bearing the Summer, by Lady Evil (part 6): "Tom stared blankly at his besuited reflection. Bare weeks ago, he was graduating, possibly the only graduation he stood a chance at now. Today, he was going to marry Sandi."

  • Danny Morgendorffer, by ST91 (part 49): "'At least ... college.' Quinn said dreamily as Heather took them to the fraternity row."

  • Bearing the Summer, by Lady Evil (part 5): "'What’s up, all you rockin’ rugrats?' Vixx started her show with her usual greeting. 'Not my boyfriend.' Daria quietly snarked as Trent snoozed next to her in his bed."

  • Erin Chambers, by OzFerret (COMPLETE!): "Erin had finished half of her pastry and was about to suggest they stroll the docks, when a large white van, with a square-rigged ship painted on the side, rumbled past the café window. 'It’s them,' Trevor cried as he hastily gathered his things."

  • Lovefool, by saiouma (COMPLETE!): "'I’ve been thinking about getting a haircut.' Daria brought up randomly, while glancing at a page of her latest book purchase."

"I'm here. But where are you?"

Andrea's about to favor us with a dramatic reading about rotting bags of flesh for Bad Poetry Day, and it's still a better choice than Quinn's greasy fry masterpiece. Poor Stacy is probably still giving her poems away for free.

Today is also the anniversary of the episode "Jane's Addition," which aired on this day in 1999. It was the beginning of the infamous Triangle, but we didn't know that at the time. In hindsight, we probably would have rather seen a repeat of that poem about fries instead.

Fanfic Update!
  • Applied Statistics, by abe (part 1): "'Dammit!' Jane exclaimed as she slammed the door behind her, 'I know I always ridiculed that idea of predestined soul mates that Maria kept babbling on about, but right about now I'm starting to wish that they really did exist!'"

  • Doctor Who: Changes in Time and Space, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 1): "Felicia Lovell entered the Console Room, where the Doctor and her other companions were. • Erin Chambers, by OzFerret (part 43): "Erin woke slowly. Her hip pressed through the foam mattress onto the boards below. The light blanket cocooned her. The room was warm and the air suffused with the miasma of bodies. She did not want to wake, sleep felt comforting."

Tiffany a Filmmaker? She Wouldn't Even Know Which End of the Camera to Point!

Here we see Tiffany portraying director/screenwriter Lina Wertmüller, who was born on this day in 1928. I seriously doubt Tiffany even knows who that is, although I imagine that's true of a lot of people, so she shouldn't feel too bad. I mean, not about that, anyway.

Today is also a birthday that Jane will not be celebrating: Max Klein, inventor of paint by number kits. According to the Daria Diaries, Jane "believes paint-by-number kits are inherently evil." I guess you can't argue with that kind of conviction.

Fanfic Update!
  • Bearing the Summer, by Lady Evil (parts 3 and 4): "Dear Grandma Ruth, Thank you very much for the gift card for Manfred Flowers. It was very thoughtful. I will give your suggestion on how to use it all the thought it deserves. Love, Daria" (Part 4)

  • Daria Ravenclaw: Year of the Owl, by Meester_Lee (part 35): "It snowed a few days before Thanksgiving, coating the Castle and grounds in white. If this was back in the States, it would be real Currier and Ives, thought Daria."

  • Glass Shouldn't Be This Intimate, by deusyang (COMPLETE!): "The two girls stood in Jane’s kitchen. Jane was rummaging through cabinets, looking for anything ceramic she could use for an art project."

Today is also the anniversary of "The Misery Chick" in 1997 and "Jake of Hearts" in 1999. Both episodes dabbled a little on the dark side, with Tommy Sherman dying in one and Jake having a brush with death in the other, but I don't remember a lot of junk food in either.

I can't guess what Jane's opinion of Disney might be, because on the one hand it's cutesy and not her style at all, but we also know that she hopes to get a job as an animator there. Today is also Embrace Your Geekness Day and Fool's Paradise Day, which means pretty much everyone is covered. Most of the people I know fall into at least one of those categories!

Finally, the episode "Fair Enough" first aired on this day in 1998. There were plenty of both geeks and fools in that one, but sadly a shortage of fries to go along with the turkey legs.

  • Backseat for No One, by EntrancedCat (part 8): "As they rounded the corner to Schloss Morgendorffer, Brittany slowed down causing Daria to give unvoiced thanks. Brittany uncharacteristically took a hand off the wheel to point."

  • Daria Ravenclaw: The Year of the Owl, by Meester_Lee (part 34): "On Friday, Daria awoke to a cold rain shower. It rained most of the day, which Daria thought was appropriate."

  • gay vibes, by 249b_east_35th (COMPLETE!): "'I can see the headline now. Suburban Axe Massacre; Scientists Blame Heatwave and Overbearing Parents.'"

  • Is It Show Time Yet?, by Lady Evil (part 11): "'Anythang yew kin do, ah kin do better.' Ariel announced in a thick drawl. Jesse scoffed at the very idea. 'I can do anything better than you!' she sang."

Nuts and Chocolate, Better Together!

I think Mrs. Johannsen's chocolate obsession has finally gone too far, even on Chocolate Day. I mean, all of fandom knows that I have no room to judge, but even I know that it's better to eat the chocolate than to be the chocolate.

Today is also the anniversary of the episodes "Road Worrier" in 1997 and "It Happened One Nut" in 1999. Both were quite nutty, in that Daria sat on a peanut butter sandwich in the former and sold nuts in the latter. Good news for nut fans, but bad news for Quinn and her pistachio dye allergy.

Someone Pick Upchuck's Jaw Off the Floor, Please

Andrea, unlikely as it is, seems to be celebrating National Bikini Day. Even stranger, Andrea was also featured in a bikini in the end credits of Is It College Yet? Someone working on the show must have had a bit of a crush on everyone's favorite goth chick.

Today is also Work-a-holics Day, and I really hope that Helen plans to celebrate only one or the other. I have to assume bikinis are not part of the law firm's dress code.

Finally, today is the anniversary of the episode "Mart of Darkness," which aired on this day in 2000. In it, we found out that Andrea worked at Payday, although probably not very hard. And not in a bikini, either.

Fanfic Update!
  • All the News that’s Fit to Primp (General "Daria in Morrowind" Thread), by welltemperedclavier (COMPLETE!): "Sure, things did get cold and all gloomy in autumn, but that wasn’t so bad since at least it gave you an excuse for more layers. And it’s not like Quinn had even bought any new dresses since coming to Morrowind so she needed to mix things up."

  • Backseat for No One, by EntrancedCat (part 8): "As they rounded the corner to Schloss Morgendorffer, Brittany slowed down causing Daria to give unvoiced thanks. Brittany uncharacteristically took a hand off the wheel to point."

  • Contriving Hope, by RubinaLadybug (COMPLETE!): "'FORGET IT, TIMOTHY!' 'But, Anthony, I need counselors for my OK To Cry Corral. None of my students have taken interest in making a difference.'"

  • Enter the Silhouette, by Roentgen (part 3): "'And as you can see, uh..."Silhouette", the cameras completely cover the arc of the mansion. We have three people watching the cameras, three patrolling the grounds. The perimeter is encircled by a fence and one gate.'"

  • A Moment Behind the Mask, by RubinaLadybug (COMPLETE!): "'And so completes our time of raising the dead and causing mass panic in this listless town,' Daria stated, her deadpan tone infecting every word she spouted."

  • Reclaiming the Fire, by RubinaLadybug (COMPLETE!): "Groans and grunts echoed against the hallways. Lockers slammed. Shoes lazily slid against the linoleum floor. Student life sluggishly reentered Lawndale High School."

  • Unpacking Lawndale YouTube Drama in 2020 with Quinn Morgendorffer (Scenes No Daria fanfic should have: The Closing Walls of Schloss Morgendorffer and Casa Lane), by Shiva (COMPLETE!): "[The Video begins: Quinn is seated in a fluffy pink paradise. The Mirror is Sentient! Get Out of the House!

Quinn has it backwards, I see. Today is Compliment Your Mirror Day, and not only is her mirror complimenting her, but the whole situation looks like a nightmarish abomination straight out of a horror movie. At least we know that no one will be complimenting that awful one in the girls bathroom that adds at least two pounds.

Today is also the anniversary of Franz Kafka's birth in 1883. I'm pretty sure The Angst Guy's "I Never Metamorphosis I Didn't Like" is the only Daria/Kafka crossover fanfic in existence, but I'd be happy to be corrected if there's another one that I don't know about.

Anyone Want Some Firstdown Fudge?

Today is Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day, a day that seems made specifically for Bro & QB. Anyone else kind of want to see the backstory for that partnership? I feel like alcohol must have been involved somehow. I demand that someone write a fanfic about it, and the ice cream puns had better be glorious.

This is also International Joke Day, so let's spend some time today trying to figure out exactly why the chicken crossed that road.

Fanfic Update!
  • Daria Ravenclaw: The Year of the Owl, by Meester_Lee (part 33): "Daria and Tabitha went through Potions class much as they would have if Professor Snape had been teaching it."

  • Determination, by solar_baeby (part 1): "'I can’t believe you aren’t going to attend your own graduation ceremony.' Daria looked up from her book to stare, unimpressed, at her best friend."

  • Doctor Who: Ways Clara Oswald Survived the Raven, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 5): "Clara considered what Rump had said. She went to talk to Rigsy. 'You're serious?' he asked. 'You actually expect me to give you my death sentence?'"

  • Enter the Silhouette, by Roentgen (parts 1 and 2): "I thought today would be an ordinary day. It was not." (Part 2)

  • Is It Show Time Yet?, by Lady Evil (part 10): "'Why doncha marry me, Trent?' Daria slurred. 'Uh....' His hesitancy got a laugh."

  • It Runs in the Family (Scenes No Daria fanfic should have: The Closing Walls of Schloss Morgendorffer and Casa Lane), by Smijey (COMPLETE!): "Jake looked uneasily from Helen, to Quinn, to Daria, to Daria'"

Daria Would Prefer a Polite Nod from Across the Room

Daria is patiently tolerating National Hug Holiday Day, which is the best anyone can hope for under the circumstances. This is probably not the ideal time to celebrate by hugging, so I'm offering air hugs to anyone who wants one. Please stay safe and healthy out there!

Today is also National Camera Day, which is a much safer holiday to celebrate right now. I'm sure Jane is happily clicking photos of destroyed gazebos, unconscious hypoglycemics, and paint-covered best friends.

Finally, today is the anniversary of the episode "Gifted," which aired on this day in 1998. In that episode, we had the questionable honor of meeting the students of Grove Hills, which led Daria to conclude that intelligence does not necessarily make people any more pleasant to be around.

They're Keeping Track of the Visions in Their Eyes

Trent and Jane have no problem celebrating National Sunglasses Day today...or tonight, for that matter. One would question how well they can see with those on, but considering they're at a family reunion I'm not sure how much they want to see.

Today is also the Great American Backyard Campout, so light up that campfire, roast those s'mores, and tell those stories about seductive vampires and clunky silver and gold sequins! Since you're camping in the backyard, feel free to camp in a cardboard box if you don't have a tent. And if you do have a tent, remember to ask your little sister to bring you some sandwiches from time to time.

Fanfic Update!
  • Backseat for No One, by EntrancedCat (part 6): "As she got out of the Lexus, Helen warily glanced around the used car lot. She remembered when her father had dragged her and her sisters to car dealerships when they were young."

  • Danny Morgendorffe, by ST91 (part 45): "'Are you ... humming?' A confused Quinn asked after hearing her brother make strange sounds. 'Guilty as charged; today I'm in a good mood.' Daniel replied."

  • Erin Chambers, by OzFerret (part 41): "Erin pulled a brush through her hair. With the warm weather, Erin was dressed in her bikini and a sarong tied under her armpits."

  • Is It Show Time Yet?, by Lady Evil (part 9): "'Um, Jesse?' Clarissa asked as he led her to the stage. 'How much of that did you overhear?'"

All Authors Are Equal, but....

Daria's going to read a blast from the past, Animal Farm, in honor of George Orwell's birth on this day in 1903. We know she's more than a casual fan, too, because she quoted the author at least once during the course of the show.

Today is also the anniversary of the episode "Boxing Daria," which aired on this day in 2001. It was a poignant almost-finale to the series (with only the final movie left before the end), giving us insight into the relationship between Daria and the rest of her family as well as a nice callback to the school psychologist scene at the beginning of the series.

It's Like Red but Not Quite

Quinn is paying her respects at the Temple of Pink (a.k.a. her room) because today is National Pink Day. Daria will take a hard pass, and I happen to agree.

In fact, Daria might even put her feelings about pink into words in honor of National Columnists Day. She's got to get started on that Future Daria career, after all! Not only that, but Brittany's got a head start on her with the "Dear Brittany" column in the Lawndale Lowdown.

Fanfic Update!
  • Beach Daze, by WildDogJJ (COMPLETE!): "The emergence of Quinn and Nicole from the ladies bath house has turned quite a few heads due to the sexy bikini's they're wearing." (Part 3)

Downward-Facing Clogs

Who wants to join the Fashion Club for International Yoga Day? Don't all volunteer at once, now. I'm a little surprised that those girls are willing to try yoga, though. Aren't they concerned that they might accidentally break a sweat?

Today is also Father's Day, so let's hope Jake gets to spend some time on the golf course or at least doing something relaxing today. Quinn, that means go elsewhere with that credit card bill!

Finally, two years ago today the proposed Daria & Jodie series was announced on the AV Club website. It hasn't shown up yet, but in fandom hope lives on. See below for the latest developments!

"Maybe we better lay off the martoonies!"

Jake's got the right idea for National Martini Day, although as far as he's concerned it's just another Friday. I remember one fanfic author once suggested that it was the olive and not the alcohol that Jake liked, and I have to say it makes a quirky kind of sense for him. Celebrate responsibly!

Today is also Take a Road Trip Day, so this would be a good day to go bust your best friend, her brother, and her brother's band out of jail. On second thought, given recent events, it's not a good day for that. Just stay home, okay?

Fanfic Update!
  • Backseat for No One, by EntrancedCat (part 5): "Daria woke up to the sweet smell of pancakes wafting under the door of her room."

  • Beach Daze, by WildDogJJ (part 1): "Jamie White was sitting alone in a both having a slice of pizza. He looked around and noted all the differences."

  • Edicius, by elainefr (part 30): "'Who’s Tom?' 'What?' Jane pulled back from Evan abruptly."

  • Is It Show Time Yet?, by Lady Evil (part 8): "Danny was regretting his choice to put on the powder blue tuxedo before taking one last check of the lights."

  • Tell Me I'm a Wreck, by conquerlove (fullbrightness) (part 4): "I'm not the biggest fan of Bart, truthfully, but when have I ever liked Jane's taste in guys?"

Ready for Takeoff!

Let's wish Quinn lots of luck in recreating Amelia Earhart's first trans-Atlantic flight by a woman, which set off on this day in 1928. She'll need that luck, too: never mind what the wind will do to her hair; what was she thinking with those pants?

Today is also Eat Your Vegetables Day, and if you've run out then check with Brittany and Kevin. They may have some leftovers from the Food in Film Festival!

I Mean, We Already Knew She Was an Airhead

Brittany has found an unusual way to celebrate Global Wind Day, and I'm not even going to mention the suspicious window placement in that image. No, not me. I'm way too classy for that!

If wind power isn't your thing, then how about Smile Power Day? Not you, Daria. That thing is freaking terrifying.

Fanfic Update!
  • Burned Out, by Wrabbit7 (part 22): "Daria ran a hand through her hair and sighed as she regarded the mess of lyrics on the notebook paper. She started to crumple up the paper, but remembered that she wasn't at home, and stopped herself."

  • Danny Morgendorffer, by ST91 (part 44): "This was the third weekend since the Morgendorffer family had moved to Lawndale. However, it was the first in which Daniel did not have to help his father fix the house, or prevent his mother and grandmother from killing each other."

  • Is It Show Time Yet?, by Lady Evil (part 6 and 7): "Jane went towards the auditorium after school. Daria told her Clarissa had something to tell her and that one Dr. Becky would also be there." (Part 7)

Hope They Have Pizza Delivery on Speed Dial!

Jake's clearly pleased about National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day, but I don't think anyone else in the house will be. Especially when they find out how many peppers he added to the recipe. Be sure to turn off all the smoke alarms before embarking on this holiday, okay?
