Good News for Mrs. Johanssen!

I see Daria and Tom have beat me to celebrating International Chocolate Day, but have no fear. I will be catching up to them in no time, and in my case the chocolate will be authorized!

For those who want two great tastes that taste great together, you could also celebrate National Peanut Day! Just take care that, unlike Trent, peanuts don't hijack your brain...moth to a flame...if you don't release me...I'll say something profane!

Once everyone's sweet tooth has been satisfied, it should be easy to observe Positive Thinking Day. Unless you're Daria, to whom "positive thinking" is an entirely foreign concept.

Fanfic Update!
  • Daria in "The Gap", by SisterCatherine (COMPLETE!): "Though she would be loath to admit it, Daria had been excited for college. The change of pace was direly needed, and after learning that she wouldn’t have to part with Jane, she was as close to eager as she really could be."

  • Timmy the Bully, by wilddogjj (COMPLETE!): "Quinn and Jim were both in the principal's office to discuss their son's recent aggressive behavior. Timmy sank in his chair while the principal, Joey (formerly of the three Js) explained what was going on."

Somehow I Doubt Mystik Spiral Plays This One

Jake seems to be rethinking his decision to celebrate National Dive Bar Day, but at least he's getting out and making friends. I gotta say, a small town like Lawndale having not one, not two, but three dive bars (this one plus the Zon and McGrundy's) seems a little odd. What the heck is going on there?

I think Jake would have been better off celebrating World Chocolate Day instead, or at least he would if he could wrestle any of it away from Mrs. Johannsen. She's not one to tangle with; just ask Mr. DeMartino.

Both the episodes "Road Worrier" and "It Happened One Nut" first aired on this day in 1997 and 1999. There were no dive bars or chocolate in either, but we did see a greasy spoon in the first and peanuts hijacked Trent's brain in the second. "You've hijacked my brain, moth to a flame, if you don't release me it'll really be lame."

Eh. Still needs work.

Fanfic Update!
  • Boston Sunset, by Yuuuutong (COMPLETE!): "The luckiest thing in Daria and Jane’s life maybe, after graduating from the senior high school, they went to Boston together."

  • But You're a Cheerleader, by Bolshevitch (part 2): "It’s 6am and cold. Biting cold. Like God left his freezer open the whole night. Somehow your high school’s bus lot is never very thermally efficient."

  • Daria Enrolls At Nevermore: An Experiment, by Meester_Lee (part 18): "After bringing up their luggage, Helen had an idea. 'Let’s take your bike,' she said. 'I assume that you want me to drive,' said Sirius."

  • Her Last Words, by Sheila Wisz Ellayn (part 88): "All of Layndale and the nearby mountains endured three days of storm with heavy snow and lashing winds, and even though daylight had almost disappeared and the temperature had dropped to alarming levels, soon the storm passed as it followed a path to the North and everything began to slowly warm up."

  • Telephone, by Bolshevitch (COMPLETE!): "'Picture this, Daria,' Jane leans beside her friend’s locker, watching her take out an armful of textbooks for English next period, 'me, you, and Kannibal Killers 4: the Re-Kannibalizing on VHS.'"

Gimme Some Chocolate, Dammit!

I think that Mrs. Johanssen must have misheard because although it's Make Mine Chocolate day she appears to have asked someone to "make ME chocolate." I'll have no problems celebrating this one, especially as today is another one of my favorite holidays: discount candy day.

Yesterday, of course, was Valentine's Day, but today we flip the script and celebrate Singles Awareness Day instead. Daria has plenty of experience with this one, and I'll bet she prefers it that way. Especially after her multiple spectacular failures in dating throughout the show.

On this day in 1999, "Daria Day 99" aired on MTV. There don't appear to be any clips or even a transcript out there for this one, so any Daria treasure hunters should consider this the Holy Grail of Daria finds!

Fuzzy Wuzzy Wee...Snacks?

I see that Mrs. Bennett (as well as, for some reason, Upchuck) is super excited about Plush Animal Lover’s Day, because it's a great opportunity to collect more Fuzzy Wuzzy Wee Bits! Since I assume that Fuzzy Wuzzy Wee Bits were a reference to Beanie Babies, I have to believe that the bottom dropped out of that particular market a long time ago.

Just don't eat the poor stuffed critters, even if it is Wild Foods Day. Still, I'd rather have a mouth full of cotton stuffing than take a chance on Jake's survival skills. No glitterberries for me, thank you!

In fact, I'll just stick to my favorite snack for National Chocolate Day. I hope Jane is able to get her hands on some unauthorized chocolate, but she'd better keep it hidden from Mrs. Johanssen if she wants to hold onto it.

Finally, a happy International Animation Day to every single character on Daria because, after all, they're all animated! I suppose it would make more sense to thank the artistic talent behind the show, though.

Fanfic Update!
  • How to Train Your Dragon: Berk in Time, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 1): "This is Berk. Most places have cats or dogs as pets. But we have dragons."

  • Spider Quinn 12 Rise of the Green Goblin, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 7): "Mayor Lawson was on edge. He read through the Sun-Herald's article again. 'Pure speculation!' he groused to himself. 'There's no proof there's an actual fourth costumed vigilante.'"

Tooth-Havers, Today We Feast!

The good news for Mr. D is that he won't have to worry about celebrating Toothache Day! The bad news is that he won't be celebrating Having Teeth At All day, either.

If he's able to get some replacement teeth--metal or otherwise--I hope he gets to observe National Pizza Day! Daria and Jane will doubtless be participating, but hopefully within reason. That extra quart of grease can really pack a wallop.

I think I lean more towards celebrating Chocolate Day, which will surprise no one in fandom who knows anything about me at all. I'm sure Mrs. Johanssen will be happy to join me, but I hope she doesn't expect me to share.

Chocolate-Covered Regency Pastiches?

I absolutely respect Mrs. Johanssen's commitment to National Chocolate Covered Anything Day, but I think she'd be happier eating something covered in chocolate rather than being something covered in chocolate. I suppose this way is better for her health, though. Assuming she's able to breathe in there.

This is also the anniversary of Jane Austen's birth in 1775, and we'll join Austen-style Daria in wishing her the best of every promise with which the world offers up each gentle day. Whatever that means.

Have Chocolate or Peanuts Hijacked YOUR Brain?

Mrs. Johanssen has pulled out all of the stops for International Chocolate Day, and I for one salute her for her devotion to the chocolate cause. Today is also National Peanut Day, and few pairings go together better than chocolate and peanuts. At least in my opinion.

Finally, today is Day of the Programmer, so offer Noah Barkman some chocolate and/or peanuts to celebrate! Just make sure it's all macrobiotic.

Fanfic Update!
  • Crystal Claw, by Sheila Wisz Ellayn (part 17): "The heavy wooden door was finally unlocked and opened slowly, everything was dark and cold and the first thing that Ella did was to quickly carry everything inside while a shaky Anna, still not quite sure that this was a good idea, just waited there as she held to the door frame."

  • Is It Adulthood Already?, by britabird (part 5): "Over the next couple of months, Jane grew more cynical with each date she went on. Either the man was too dumb, or too creepy, or too much of an asshole for her to waste anymore of her time."

  • Quinn and Stacy - Esteem?, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (COMPLETE!): "Quinn looked at Stacy in concern as they left the school grounds. She had been silent since Mr. O’Neill said they would be up at Assembly."

  • Spare the Rod, Spoil the Quinn, by wilddogjj (COMPLETE!): "Quinn was at the dry goods aisle. As she began to load her cart she was approached by a man with shaggy brown hair and a beard."

One Of My Favorite Holidays!

Daria and Tom are absolutely doing National Chocolate Day right. Not only are they eating chocolate, but it's chocolate that belongs to someone else! As Jane might say, unauthorized chocolate.

Today is also International Animation Day, which for Daria characters is every day. Except Trent, who is the opposite of animated.

Fanfic Update!
  • Baby Fever, by wilddogjj (part 1): "Quinn and Jim were in the checkout line loading groceries onto the conveyer belt. Behind them was a young brunette woman trying to soothe her crying baby."

  • Come And Knock On Our Door, by ladyevil (part 2): "Jane picked up the phone to see what Daria was up to and heard Trent on the extension. 'Yeah, the sun’ll be setting when the movie lets out.' she heard Trent say."

  • Daria: Dark Goddess (Iron Chef: Daria and the Gang and Halloween), by meesterlee (part 1): "'Jane, could I talk to you?' said Daria. 'Sure,' said Jane. 'Here or over pizza?'"

  • Fizzled Out, by Erin M (part 1): "January came to Lawndale like it usually did, cold and windy. The elevation of the town was too low for snow, but the winds came in like crazy, chilling everyone unlucky enough to be outdoors."

  • Origin Story, by Erin M (COMPLETE!): "I’ve always liked games. There’s a structure to them that appeals to me, with just enough of a random element to keep things from being boring and predictable."

  • Tell Me I'm a Wreck, by conquerlove (fullbrightness) (part 6): "After what feels like a year, I’m finally going in to see Trent and judge the damage for myself. Jane is still at his side, and her jerk of a boyfriend-I mean, mildly irritating boyfriend-goes into the room before I do to gently coax her out."

  • A Visit From The Goon Squad, by Two-Eyed Charlie (part 1): "So that was a bit embarrassing."

Now She IS a Damn Chocolate Bar!

Looks like Mrs. Johanssen's wildest dream has come true in what can only be described as a National Milk Chocolate Day miracle. The downside is that eating her favorite food now qualifies as cannibalism.

Today is also the anniversary of the episode "Speedtrapped" in 1999. Never mind the fun of seeing Daria and Quinn work together or Mystik Spiral's take on children's songs--the real takeaway is the PSA about never picking up hitchhikers. They might be axe murderers or, worse, country music singers!

Fanfic Update!
  • The Barksdale Son (Iron Chef: Daria The Youngest Barksdale), by Shiva (COMPLETE!): "'Yo Daniel!' Daniel Barksdale glanced up from his laptop and the pile of books in front of him, the speaker was a friendly acquaintance of his, Julius Cornell."

  • Big In Japan, by WildDogJJ (part 1): "A US Army patrol was traipsing through the jungle sweating profousely in the brutally hot sun. It's only April, but the heat and humidity are already unbearable."

  • Daria on the Trail (Daria Landing In Another Fanfiction: An Experiment), by Meester_Lee (part 7): "The Northerner was gone when Mrs. Trout awoke Daria the next morning."

  • Daria: Spring Is Icumin In, by Meester_Lee (part 2): "Amy Barksdale glared at her new ride’s dashboard to no avail. Not only would her new sports car not start up, the dashboard wouldn’t light up either."

  • Ozark Odyssey (Linn's short stories (or ficlets, drabbles...)), by Linnofthewoods (parts 1 and 2): "'Welcome aboard,' the airline pilot spoke into the microphone. 'Our flight to the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport should be approximately four and a half hours.'" (Part 2)

  • The Youngest Barksdale (Iron Chef: Daria The Youngest Barksdale), by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 1): "Daria Barksdale looked at Lawndale as the plane flew over on approach to the airport. She still wasn’t sure why she had to live with Helen and her family."

Beauty and Chocolate? Chocolate IS Beauty!

Quinn's celebrating Beautician's Day, but I'm sure she'd be there regardless of what holiday is today. If you visit a beauty salon today, be sure to thank the professionals...or at least offer to buy some scissors from them.

Today is also National Chocolate Pudding Day, and I think Brittany speaks not just for Daria but for all of us when she denounces that gross pudding skin. Blech.

Fanfic Update!
  • Born on the Fourth of July, by Lady Evil (parts 2 - 4): "So, please, oh please R.S.V.P. And come and be my guest!" (Part 3) (Part 4)

  • Guilty Pleasure (Linn's short stories (or ficlets, drabbles...)), by Linnofthewoods (COMPLETE!): "Trent of course wasn't the only one back in NYC Rose was texting every day. She also kept in touch with Daria, Jane, and Jodie."

  • Mega Mall Mega Problems, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 2): "Thursday came rather quickly. However, Xander quickly found a problem. 'I have to take Sam and Chris to school?'"

  • Pinch Sitter 2 (The Carbones), by WildDogJJ (parts 1 and 2): "Jim was in the home office paying bills. He looked at one and his eyes went wide." (Part 2)

"Deal me in."

Mack's showing an impressive card-holding skill for Card Playing Day, but let's see if he's as good at playing cards as he is at fanning them out. He'd better be; I hear the Future Morgendorffers play a mean game of hearts.

Today is also National Chocolate Candy Day, but as far as I'm concerned every day should be National Chocolate Candy Day. Just a thought.

Fanfic Update!
  • Bearing the Summer, by Lady Evil (part 21): "'Alone in the woods again.' Jane said, walking hand in hand with Jesse. 'Yeah.' he said."

  • I STAY, by O-L-D-D (part 3): "Hands thumped against the steering wheel in frustration as Jane sighed and gave up."

  • Star Trek: Voyager: Q Junior's Lessons, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 3): "'These are very heavy,' Junior complained as he approached the turbolift. ‘Why wasn’t the Intrepid class designed with turbolift access to the Shuttle Bay?’ he wondered."

A Cynic in Possession of a Good Fortune

Quinn and Daria are wishing Jane Austen a happy birthday, complete with a bracing spot of tea and a vapor-curing powder. Daria is likely a fan, if only because she did a very good job of parodying the author's work in "Write Where it Hurts."

I happen to be an Austen fan, but I'll be spending most of my day celebrating National Chocolate Covered Anything Day because, well, chocolate! I really am the Mrs. Johanssen of the fandom, aren't I?

Fanfic Update!
  • Dysfunction Junction, by WildDogJJ (part 2): "Quinn is alone in the office talking on the phone. Quinn: 'Sandi, I wanna apologize for my family's behavior last night.'"

  • The Horn Identity (General "Daria in Morrowind" Thread), by welltemperedclavier (COMPLETE!): "Dad hadn’t shaved his horns in a while."

  • I STAY, by O-L-D-D (part 2): "The universe has a sadistic sense of humour as right across the street from that very party, a certain dark-haired artist was sitting bored in a living room."

  • Mysteries of Lawndale 03: Night of the Coffee House, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 6): "'You’re here just in time,' Helen said to her daughters as they entered the kitchen. 'Dinner is ready.'"

  • Nuclear Family, by Smijey (COMPLETE!): "'Honey, I'm home!' Quinn called out as she walked into the front door. She hung her fedora on the hat rack, loosened her tie, and plopped down in her armchair. 'Boy, you would not believe the day I had at work.'"

(drools blissfully)

Mrs. Johannsen and I wish you all a great International Chocolate Day, although it's up for debate which of the two of us is a bigger fan of the sweet treat. I will admit to never turning myself into a giant chocolate bar, so I guess I forfeit.

Today is also National Peanut Day, so you can mix up your chocolate with some peanut butter! Or take a cue from Daria and sit on a peanut butter sandwich. Or listen to Trent sing about peanuts that have hijacked your brain. Totally your call!

Nuts and Chocolate, Better Together!

I think Mrs. Johannsen's chocolate obsession has finally gone too far, even on Chocolate Day. I mean, all of fandom knows that I have no room to judge, but even I know that it's better to eat the chocolate than to be the chocolate.

Today is also the anniversary of the episodes "Road Worrier" in 1997 and "It Happened One Nut" in 1999. Both were quite nutty, in that Daria sat on a peanut butter sandwich in the former and sold nuts in the latter. Good news for nut fans, but bad news for Quinn and her pistachio dye allergy.

When Women Either Married or Shriveled Up and Blew Away

Daria and Quinn are both here to wish Jane Austen a happy birthday! The late author was born on this day in 1775, and between her romantic stories and skill with satire, I think this is one writer that both girls might enjoy!

I, too, am a fan of Austen, but I'm also (as anyone who knows me is aware) a major chocoholic. For that reason, I'll be quite happy to celebrate National Chocolate Covered Anything Day! Mmm, chocolate and a good book. Do not disturb for the rest of the day, all right?

Beware!

Ms. Li is horrified to find that today is Friday the 13th, or maybe she just realized that she forgot to feed the bomb-sniffing dogs. Either way, keep in mind that today is also Defy Superstition Day, so go ahead and cross a black cat's path and walk under a ladder if you feel like it.

Today is also International Chocolate Day, so it's possible that Ms. Li just caught someone eating unauthorized chocolate. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Fanfic Update!
  • Happy Adversity, by Lady Evil (part 10): "'Here.' Clarissa said, giving Link a wrapped gift. 'I hope you like it. Happy birthday.' 'Thanks.' said Link. He decided he'd better be a polite party host. 'Want some party mix?' 'I can't.' said Clarissa. 'Nut allergy.'"

  • What You Deserve, by atiyatortilla (part 1): "Memory was a fickle thing. Daria Quinn Morgendorffer knew this better than most."

Chocolate and Nuts? What a Great Combination!

Anyone care for a chocolate-covered Mrs. Johannsen for Chocolate Day? I'll pass, but only because I have plenty of chocolate stashed away already. You have fun, though!

Today is also the anniversary of both "Road Worrier" in 1997 and "It Happened One Nut" in 1999. Daria sat on a peanut butter sandwich in one and dispensed nuts in the other. Someone working on the show was just nuts about nuts!

Fanfic Update!
  • Am I A Grownup Yet?, by jones2000 (part 19): "'We're going to the Hamptons.' 'We're doing what now?'"

  • Daria: A Post-Electric Play, by Roentgen (part 1): "'I'm sitting here in a railray station got a ticket for my destination...hmmm hmmm....' Poe finished sweeping the floor. Or at least she thought she had finished sweeping it. All it took was one little wind from somewhere to bring the dust right back into this run-down shack somewhere along the Mississippi."

  • Getting By, by EntrancedCat (part 11): "Kevin's mouth gaped on empty air as Tiffany broke their kiss by dropping down from tip-toes. 'What is it, babe?' Kevin asked as Tiffany turned her face from his. 'Is my Honest Abe costume beard tickling you, dollface?'"

  • Timmy The Model (Life After Thirty), by WildDogJJ (COMPLETE!): "It's late August so Quinn and Jim are at the mall with Tommy, Timmy and Teddy to do what all parents do in the waning days of summer: shop for back-to-school clothes. They are currently in the pre-teen section of Cashmans. Jim is loaded down with the latest styles for school age boys." (Part 2) (Part 3)

  • Truth or Dare (Scenes No Daria fanfic should have: The Saga Goes On), by Shiva (part 1): "Inexplicably Daria and Jane found themselves playing Truth or Dare during a sleepover at Jane's place. The reasons for all of this are inexplicable and have no baring on canon beyond what you are willing to believe."

They Really Are Eating Unauthorized Chocolate!

Tom and Daria are completely on board with National Chocolates Day, especially because Quinn's going to be pissed when she finds out. If you'll excuse me, I have some celebrating of my own to do. See you when the sugar coma wears off!

Fanfic Update!
  • The Blum-Decker Option, by Roentgen (parts 1 - 3): "Kevin Grossman walked up to 1527 White River Way in Lawndale. He ended up in this dreary bourgeois town by happenstance." (Part 2) (Part 3)

  • Hands Down, by Princess_Pasta (part 5): "Everyone hates the message board miscreant, but now you can do something about it! Flame wars: the next generation, tonight on Sick, Sad World! Kevin had a bowl of Cocoa Puffs precariously balanced on his lap while he flipped through the TV channels when his mom walked through the front door."

  • Harry Potter Morgendorffer, by Meester_Lee (part 33): "It was no secret that Harry James Morgendorffer, “HJ” to his friends and family, liked sports cars—the faster, the higher-performance, the better. Not that he could do much more than look—being nine years old and being on an allowance drastically limited his options and buying power."

  • Home, by Rémi (part 3): "Morgendorffer household. Morning. Quinn and Daria are together in the kitchen. Quinn is preparing pancakes, smiling and humming softly. Daria is sitting and looking at Quinn while she cooks, with a slight Mona Lisa grin and an unsually tender expression on her face."

  • Love of a Good Esteemster, by EntrancedCat (COMPLETE!): "I wasn't really worried about being late for the self-esteem class which the so-called school counselor pseudo-shrink condemned me to until I considered that being late might be considered a sign of low self-esteem and condemn me for a longer sentence in whatever purgatory 'teen self-esteem class' was a euphemism for in Lawndale High's jargon."

  • Magician's Code, by Crow-Black Dream (COMPLETE!): "Stacy slept in that morning. The first thing she saw was the bouquet of daisies arranged around the unfurled flower wand in a blue vase on the dresser."

Mmm...Chocolate Fuzzy Wuzzy Wee Bits!

Mrs. Bennett will be right with you, as soon as she's done observing Plush Animal Lover's Day. We can have her attention back once she's appreciated every single Fuzzy Wuzzy Wee Bit in the store, which means we'd really be better off just moving on without her.

Speaking of grown women with unhealthy obsessions, today is also National Chocolate Day and--what? Oh, right, of course I was referring to Mrs. Johanssen. Not myself. Hey, is that unauthorized chocolate over there? Be right back.

Fanfic Update!
  • An Annoying Truth (Life After Thirty), by WildDogJJ (part 1): "A black Lincoln Continental pulls into the driveway. Jake Morgendorffer emerges. At sixty-eight he now looks like he did in the future secene at the end of 'Write Where It Hurts', except that he still has some brown locks among the gray hair. As he approaches the house he has a thought."

  • Barb Wire (Daria and the Gang Thread II), by Roentgen (COMPLETE!): "'So, anyway,' Quinn said. 'I was waiting in line behind Skyler at Starbucks. He got, like, I don't know, a vente, and I got an expresso, and I was - !' ' - wait a minute,' Sandi said. 'What was that you got?'"

  • Daria's Great Adventure, by dmsfanman (part 12): "Commander Ramirez walked into the library and sat down in a chair across from Daria. In an already tired voice she said, 'Daria, as much as I hate to say it you are about to become the first Martian war reporter.'"

  • Erin Chambers, by OzFerret (part 10): "It was Saturday morning and Erin was out at bed early. All of her clothes, even the loathsome skirt, were laid on the bed or hung from every possible hook. Erin nibbled on toast while she combined outfits in her mind."

  • Esteem Loudly (Iron Chef: Lisa Loud or Daria Morgendorffer?), by EntrancedCat (part 1): "I watched Dad's head swivel and bob as he navigated the boat of our massive new SUV through the still unfamiliar streets of Lawndale, MD. I had mixed hopes and desires that he and his passengers were headed in the right direction or that he would give up and we could all go home for another day."

  • Evil Deed Blues, by CaffeineAddict94 (part 4): "No matter how many years passed, stepping foot inside a principal's office still filled her with dread."

  • Flight, by Princess_Pasta (part 2): "Lawndale High was every bit as terrible as Daria predicted. Fifteen minutes into new student orientation and she already wanted to gouge her eyes out."

  • Harry Potter Morgendorffer, by Meester_Lee (part 32): "'This is not what I had in mind for my life,' she said. 'I don't want to be a witch.' 'Sweetie, I love you no matter what you are,' said Helen. She did the only thing she could think of doing, and gave her daughter a hug."

  • The Paris Commune (Daria and the Gang Thread II), by Roentgen (COMPLETE!): "Jake Morgendorffer drove his two daughters up to the front of Lawndale High School. 'Just be glad your mother isn't with us in this car,' Jake said."

  • Second Chance for Love, by David Falkayn (part 29): "'Girls?' Helen called up to her daughters currently in the living room, 'Could you come into the kitchen for a moment? Your father and I would like to talk to you.'"

  • Superiors, by ST91 (part 19): "Daria climbed the stairs very quickly ... yet her brain was running faster than her. She was looking for a possible explanation for what happened but she couldn't find one. So she thought of a story that might seem plausible."

  • Unnamed story (LLH Short Entries #2), by Roentgen (part 153): "Tom Sloane waited impatiently for the elevator to take him up to Sandi Griffin's office. He knew he needed to update her on QMS Manufacturing and the newest sticky wicket. Joan had told him that his was something that could be handled but even so - 'when in doubt, elevate'."

Thank Goodness for Quinn's High Pain Tolerance for Hair-Care Treatments!

Let's wish a happy Beautician's Day to Jozu and all the other long-suffering workers who have to endure Quinn's endless prattling as they do their best to make her look perfect--or at least cuter than Sandi. If you visit the beautician today, remember to tell them which show you want your style from. Or you could just offer to buy some scissors from them.

Today is also National Chocolate Pudding Day, and I join Brittany and Daria in hoping that your pudding doesn't have any skin on the top. Ewwww.

Finally, happy anniversary to Jake and Helen, who made their "Vows of Commitment" on this day in 1975. I hope Jake got Helen something better than a misshapen hobbit candle this time.

Fanfic Update!
  • Cuckoos On Infinite Earths, by Smijey (part 19): "Daria and Jane hadn't expected to be watching the new Pope's address live, but then again, back in high school they had campaigned the yearbook staff to have her be titled Most Likely To Be The Literal Anti-Christ."

  • Daria's Great Adventure, by dmsfanman (part 5): "Daria stood looking out over the rim of the crater recording video. The display in her helmet showed the view through the camera attached to her chest plate."

  • Jersey Sure (Quinn, Season 4), by WildDogJJ (COMPLETE!): "We see Jim's Camaro driving along the street. Cut to inside and we see Jim driving while Quinn's in the passenger seat. They're on their way home from a night out. Quinn: Thanks for taking me to Cest La Ve, Jim." (Part 2) (Part 3)

  • Proof through the Esteem, by WalterKovacs (COMPLETE!): "'Girls, I just want you to know that your mother and I both realize it's not easy moving to a new town,' started Jake Morgendorffer from behind the wheel of his car."

  • Unnamed story (All-Purpose Creative Writing Thread: Seven), by Aloysius (part 1): "David looked at the growing white mass ahead of them and froze in shock. His son, Nigel, saw his father's expression fall momentarily, then it solidified again as he looked at his family and the other refugees gathered around him."

  • Unnamed story (Iron Chef: Daria and Jodie are best friends), by Roentgen (part 2): "The car pulled up to the dual garage of the Morgendorffer residence. It was a Jaguar XJ30. Daria could see through the window that Andrew Landon and Jodie Landon were ready to pick her up."

  • Unnamed story (World's Shortest Crossover, Part XIV: The Crossover Awakens!), by peapotmaster (COMPLETE!): "DARIA: Dad, what is the name of this camp again? JAKE: Your mom said it is called Camp Campbell."

  • Unnamed story (World's Shortest Crossover, Part XIV: The Crossover Awakens!), by Wraith (COMPLETE!): "'More coffee! Please!' Charles shouted. 'Daria?' Jane asked, noticing Daria had yet to touch her drink. 'I've never had coffee.' Daria answered, 'Amy said a young lady shouldn't drink stimulants.'"
