What If Quinn's Guardian Angel is Really a Guardian Cow?

I want to caution Mrs. Landon not to get too excited, because while today is National Michelle Day, she spells her name with only one "l" and therefore doesn't qualify. I'm sure she'll be offended but, after all, when isn't she offended?

There's good news for Quinn, though, because it's Guardian Angels Day! She should take some extra time to thank whatever supernatural force is out there watching over her and her designer jeans.

Daria, however, might prefer to celebrate World Farm Animals Day by reading that essay that compares the sophomore class to barnyard animals. The one that names names.

I don't know why Michele Landon looks so upset; it's National Michele Day and they even spelled her name right! Maybe she's angry because she doesn't like that people just assume she wants her own holiday? You got me on this one.

This is also Zero Tasking Day, so try not to accomplish anything. Channel your inner Trent or follow Mr. DeMartino's advice: "Conserve your energy. Do as little as possible. Pretend you're in class!"

Dancing Cheek to Cheek

Today is World Dance Day (also International Dance Day, Dance Day, etc.). It's another of those UNESCO-type holidays when our International Overlords force us to do things for cultural diversity, like eating healthy foods and appreciating badgers. Today you must dance. I have a note from my doctor saying I'm excused, but you have no excuse. Get goin', shake a leg.

By the way, the Landons at right are doing their dancing bit as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Hope someone here remembers who those two were. They appear to be doing that famous "Dancing Cheek to Cheek" bit from the 1935 movie Top Hat.

"Kinesha's First Kwanzaa"

While Andrew and Michele Landon do the Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers thing for us this Kwanzaa, let us reflect on a story that once upon a time appeared in Daria Fanficland: "Kinesha's First Kwanzaa." I have forgotten the author's name, but he said he had titled the story after the children's book mentioned in "Pinch Sitter," as he could think of no other name for the tale. In a weird kind of way the name was appropriate, though for the life of me I could not say why.

The tale was an alternate-universe creation in which the birth order of Jane and Trent Lane was reversed, so it was Trent Lane who sat behind Daria in Mr. O'Neill's self-esteem class. Daria and Trent became friends but never dated; Jane, being older, had her own life but still looked after her little brother. It was a bittersweet story, very affecting and sad, though in no way tragic. The ending was moving and well handled, and I always considered it one of the best Daria AU stories ever done.

And then the author decided to have all his fanfiction removed from the Internet, and it vanished utterly. I cannot even find the story using the Wayback Machine at www.archive.org

Anyone remember this story? Anyone know where it can be found?
