One of the background characters in Daria is "The Head," a glasses-wearing kid in the self-esteem class in "Esteemsters." He has only one line in the show but reappears now and then through at least the fourth season. He gets his nickname from his T-shirt, which advertises another MTV cartoon of the 1990s, named of course The Head.The reason that this reference is so interesting is because Daria the show is linked to Beavis and Butt-head, as everyone knows, but Beavis and Butt-head is also linked to The Head, because according to Wikipedia, Butt-head makes a cameo appearance in an episode of The Head. If so, all three universes are linked, and characters from The Head can appear in Daria fanfic.
The question is, who knows anything about The Head? A VHS tape was made of the show's first season (called The Head Saves the Earth), but it is difficult to find. Some checking around on the Internet also shows that the characters from The Head are pretty strange. Hey, Daria had some strange stuff on it, too.
If anyone knows more about The Head, drop some notes here about the crossover potential.

I'm using the Print Screen key on my computer, pasting the result to Paint to trim out the picture I want, then using Irfanview to resize the sample. I have some episodes on my computer and just go through those in search of what I want.
I liked it (note to self - see if I voted for a DVD release on TVShowsOnDVD). It was no "The Maxx", but of course I was a hardcore comic book geek at the time that aired, and still have intrests in that area. In fact The Head might have been based on a comic book or strip. But what do I know? I liked Dave Chapelle's "Half-Baked" back then (a film he's all but disowned, and the only amusing part, sober or not, is the "stoner types" sequance with cameos by Jon Stewart, Garafolo, Willie Nelson, & Snoop Dog, though I also still laugh at Jim Bruer's convoluted explanation for the guard dogs death, but I digress).
The basic concept of the Head could translate to Daria - alien takes residence in a character's head to save the world with said character's reluctant help (the duo had a combative relationship IIRC). You could go for the obvious (but not in a bad way) and have Daria go through that, or twist it and have, like, Quinn, Brittany, or a backgrounder like Mr. Head here. For that matter Trent might be a better fit, as IIRC the title character was a slacker. Just pick an appropriate rival ala the series, which had an evil alien-Head symbiote as the main villian, or twist it and have good-head Daria (stop laughing, you perverts!) vs bad-head Jane or vice-versa.
