Jake and a very reluctant Daria are observing Hug Holiday, but if anyone outside Daria's immediate family tries to join in then they should watch out--Daria has been known to threaten lawsuits to thwart physical contact. Jane is an exception, however, as she's one of the few people Daria has voluntarily hugged in her life. And all it took was a traumatic car accident!
On the other hand, if Jane values her life she won't try to get this encounter on film, even if it is Camera Day. Cameras are only for photographing Jake when his eye bursts a blood vessel.
On this day in 1998, the episode "Gifted" first aired and we found out that there are, in fact, worse schools in Lawndale than Lawndale High. Well, equally as bad, at least.
