On this day in 1919, the Eighteenth Amendment was ratified. This signaled the start of Prohibition the following year, which ended drinking in the U.S. forever. Ha. Fortunately for old timey bartended Upchuck, as far as I can tell drinking became even more popular than ever.
Today is also National Nothing Day, which we observe by...doing nothing, I suppose.
