Cynics! In! Spaaaaaaace!

Daria is locked and loaded for Space Day, perhaps because outer space is the only place she can go to read in peace without idiots interrupting her. Then again, this may be her costume for the latest Alien Convention, almost guaranteed to feature Artie.

It's worth pointing out that she's wearing pants instead of a skirt, which is in direct conflict with National No Pants Day. Fortunately, both Jake and Trent are happy to celebrate this one even if she's sitting it out.

Finally, even though it's Friday it's also Sun Day! Yeah, I know. Still, the sun is a part of space, so I guess it fits. Just don't go out pantsless during daylight hours, okay?

Before I do anything else, I apologize if some of the images are familiar to you because I posted them before. As far as I know, I haven't, but my memory is kaput, so... Okay, that's out of the way, let's take a look. At left is the video clip button that once took you to see Daria dyeing Jane's hair in DDMD. At right is... I'm not sure, looks like the button going to Space Daria's page. Nice hair.

Now we have a nice Daria logo that doesn't move (left), one with good color. Some of the old-time images look way off-tone, like Quinn with very pale blue-green skin, or Daria with hair so dark it's almost black. I used to think these images, found on other people's websites, were just badly rendered by the webmasters. I was wrong. Sorry.

The Space Fashion Club is "Coming Nov." but I am sure someone can change the wording quite easily. Have fun with it. The image of Daria at lower left (below this entry) was once able to move its eyes. I have all the eye GIFs, but can't put them together with the image. Oh, well.

At right again is Space Kevin, coming in October or something. That should wind this batch up nicely.

62 years ago, Dr. Lincoln LaPaz, an astronomer and expert in meteors, spotted a UFO while out with his family about 70 miles north of Roswell, NM, where the infamous Roswell sighting had occurred only days earlier. Space Daria (nonmoving version)

Can't have a space family Morgendorffer without a Space Daria, so here she is, from her own webpage, c. June 2001. Her helmet at right emits radio waves, but I had to get rid of that to put her head onto her body at left. Maybe someone else can fix that.

More later, need a break from all this. There are tons more pix and text to go. Seriously.

Didn't Quite Work Out as Expected

As you see at right, I did manage to glue together "SF Daria" from the year 2000 Daria website that MTV had, but now her arm won't move and her helmet doesn't send radio waves. Dang. It's a GIF, it's supposed to work! Computers suck. Anyone know how to go this correctly?

The image could use some work, filling in color and completing the background. Go to it.

Next, if I can't get any more Mystik Spiral stuff, I'll post the new Quinn stuff. Stay tuned.

Yes, the rumors are true.
Is It Fall Yet?, Daria's first made-for-TV movie, will premiere this fall (how appropriate!) on MTV. We can't give away too much about the story at this point except to say that it involves a hijacking of the Space Shuttle, mysterious bacteria from under the sea, the illegitimate twin daughters of a ninja warrior and a Jedi knight, a dozen talking eggs, the deaths of six main characters and a really heartwarming rendition of "What I Did For Love." But that's all we're saying.
