Let's have some marching band music. Or just the marching band members. See if you can figure out who these characters are.

A semi-irregular blog of news, opinions, and random ideas about MTV's Daria and its fandom, plus anything else even vaguely Daria related
My opinion only, though these sites do enjoy broad support within the fandom. Links are active if their websites were updated since September 1, 2016.
Message board links are marked active if relevant messages in a significant number have been posted there since January 1, 2013.

Hmm! Trumpet-girl?

Hmmm! Karen Disher?
Not Karen Disher. The brunette girl with the glasses in the color picture is the one UU and I call "Cindy," because she is modeled after one of the animation executives. The lenses and frames of her glasses are trapezoidal in shape, but the trumpeter's glasses are rounded rectangles, with a long braid in back. UU wrote to me saying he thought these three were unique characters, unlike The Head and his trombone. I'm still looking, but I think he's right.
Karen Disher did say somewhere she was a band geek in high school in real life, and the character modeled after her (Burnout Girl, or Jennifer) has a guitar in her locker.
Yes. Yes, she was. Played trumpet in the marching band down in Alabama.
In fact, she was in the Grissom H.S. Tiger Band in Huntsville, AL. '86-'87
