LATE ADD: Alert fan Gene has pointed out that there is a MySpace page allegedly produced by a slightly off-canon Daria Morgendorffer. The page is amusing, but it also links to many screen captures from the show that fans might like to have. I found some nice ones there. Thank you, "Daria"!

As for how I found the Daria MySpace page, I was looking into Google for Lawndale. Most of the page refs were for Lawndale, California. Lots of places in the burbs certainly come up rather the same type of community. For me, in my neck of the woods, it's Ankeny, Iowa. I've certainly met some self-involved, smug and clueless sports fans there. Churches, chain restaurants, home schooled and High School pride-I've seen it all there. Not the most prime neighborhood, not too far from Watts and Compton.
Compton can't be all bad. I heard someone wrote a song about being "straight out of Compton." Maybe it's a nice place.

And Jane has several Darias who are friends. In an AU/Multiverse nod, they live in Lawndales in several states, have varying ages and random horoscope signs.
This is the only fandom in which you can start out talking about lesbians and end up talking about astrology, the lesbians completely forgotten.
I'm on an email list dedicated to Van Morrison, and there is a traditional tale there involving Christmas and Lesbians. Maybe it should be rewritten with Jane and Daria in the starring roles. Or not.
