Today is the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Dale Messick, who created the comic strip and character Brenda Starr. Was the Daria of Beavis and Butt-head inspired to become an "inquiring reporter" by Brenda Starr's adventures? (The B&B episode with Daria the Reporter, "Sporting Goods," is here.)

As of this moment, I can find only one Daria fanfic that references Brenda Starr. Congratulations, BG. You win again.
