Spread Your Wings and Fly

Here's an interesting fanfic from the archives of Outpost Daria: "Daria: The Hunted," by Love Gordon. It takes place now (today).

Just for fun I looked up wingfic, a type of fanfic in which, well, characters get wings. Sorta obvious. Wingfic has a weird history. It's been known to appear in Daria fanfiction, but it is rare.

I might write up a short thinger on DariaWiki about it. Does anyone remember which superhero-crossover stories had Daria characters with wings? I remember seeing some mutant original characters, though few or no main Daria characters with wings. Moar later.

Whoever thought that Tom Sloane needed (or deserved) wings was obvious skivving off much-needed electroshock therapy to create that picture. STACY deserves wings, not Tom Sloane. We still love you, Stacy!!! (Is dragged off to a padded cell by concerned members of the PPMB)

So, I followed the wingfic link. On that page there was a link to crackfic, which I also followed. On that page there was a reference to a Care Bears BDSM fic, and you'll be receiving the bill for my brain bleaching in three to five business days.

Oh, and I forgot something: there was a He-Man/Daria crossover written at some point (it's on OD) in which Daria sort-of gets wings. More like really feathery arms.

Yes, I read that whole series. Considering the subject matter, it was stunningly good.

Whoa! That gives me a GREAT idea!

Two things. First, Julia Carlyle has wings. Second, Daria has shown that if she and another person are both in possession of certain technology and/or amounts of Salazarium, she can duplicate their powers.

You do the math from there. :-)

Bump looks at picture and thinks, "Hmm, wings sound good for dinner.."

Thanks for posting that alter-ego.

Stacy deserves wings, not Tom Sloane.Everyone deserves them!

Well, Hawkgirl appears in "A Cynical Shade of Green."Anyone have a link to this? An author name?

[...] Julia Carlyle has wings.I'll have to assume — this being no longer the Daria fandom, but the Dariafic fandom — that this character is from fan fiction. If someone could note who this is, and in what story, I'd appreciate it.
