The Space Age: 51 Years and Counting

It didn't feel right to not have a special post just to mark the dawn of the Space Age, 51 years ago. It is amazing to me that there is no holiday or celebration to mark this day, at least not that I am aware of. Why? Well, yeah, the Russians got there first, whipped the pants off of us, but do the Russians have a holiday to mark the launch of Sputnik I? I'm not sure that they do. Weird, man.

More l8r.

Eh, the Russians may have beaten us into space, but we planted a flag on the moon first. (And actually, by their standards, that means we own the moon).
