If the Head has saved the world, maybe he's a popular media figure and merchandisable, and the backgrounder Head is a fan and bought the official merchandise.
But that then raises questions about why, in a world where aliens have threatened Earth, Daria has poo-poohed the idea of aliens. But it WOULD explain why characters think aliens are running around in The Lawndale File...

I tend to think most people of Daria's world don't believe the alien invasion happened, seeing it as a fringe conspiracy. However, many people might recall having a bad headache or migraine the night the invasion took place, because of the method of invasion.
Just once, I'd like it to turn out everyone knows aliens/monsters/demons existed and/or attacked, and they just don't mention around the heroes because they have 'more important' things to worry about.
