We've Come a Long Way, Baby!

Exactly one year ago today, the very first Daria DVD sets were received by fans. Hooray!

So, what has changed since that momentous DVD release? I have several thoughts, but I'd rather open it up for discussion. What effect do you think the DVDs have had on fandom? Talk about it in the comments while I update the latest news:

I think the fandom has been renewed by having more people join in because of the attention the DVD release got. I know I joined because of that. For years after it ended, Daria was a show I really liked but had lost track of. When I found out that the show was finally going to be released on DVD it renewed my interest and eventually led to me reading and writing fanfiction. And now that the DVDs are out there and they're showing Daria again on Logo the show won't fade away like a lot of other good programs so it can continue to get a new audience and attract people to the fandom.

That's definitely the big one. Another that I've come to appreciate is that the DVDs make it much, much easier to get pictures from episodes for the DFB2, the DariaWiki, message board games (like the Bro Macros thread), etc.

Plus, if I find myself wondering something about an episode that I can't get from the transcripts--like a character's facial expression or an unusual outfit--it's much easier to fill that gap in information. This has saved my butt several times while writing fanfic!

Well, there was this news, but I'm not sure if there have been any new developments.
