To Goof Off or not to Goof Off....
Amy is certainly enjoying National Goof Off Day, although her sisters likely aren't nearly as amused. Go ahead and be as silly as you want today, even (especially) during solemn occasions!
One way you could show off your literary goofball side is by celebrating Talk Like William Shakespeare Day! Just don't follow Brittany's example, because no one wants to hear Romeo and Juliet mutilated like that. Ever.
Finally, you can observe World Water Day by taking a long sip or a pleasant swim, but try not to find yourself on a sinking casino boat after it hits a garbage barge. No amount of Titanic roleplay is worth that kind of hassle.

Watch Out for Atomic Communists from Mars!
Better keep at least one eye on the skies, because it's Extraterrestrial Abductions Day and you never know who might be waiting to scoop you up. On the bright side, they might be alien space babes who will replace your skin and press your pants for free!
If you don't get abducted, feel free to tell everyone you did because it's also World Storytelling Day and being kidnapped by a UFO would make for a fun tale. I'm sure it would be more amusing than Quinn's story about tacky dresses or Daria's cannibal fairy tale.
If you don't do anything else today, at least be sure to brush your teeth. Partly because it's World Oral Health Day and partly because no one wants to smell your bad breath. Don't forget to follow the Gupty kids' example by flossing!

The Fashion Club Doesn't Even Approve of Recycling Outfits!
I don't think Sandi is enjoying Global Recycling Day, and not least because she's doing--ugh--manual labor. From the look on her face, I suspect that someone forgot to separate their recycling from their garbage. Not. Done.
If the Fashion Club catches her in that outfit, she'll also be celebrating Awkward Moments Day. Daria has had more than her share of those, especially whenever Trent is around.
Grove Hills should be glad that Daria chose not to attend their school, because she might have decided to celebrate National Sloppy Joe Day by poisoning their lunch. That would have gone well beyond awkward.

I Suspect a Trap
Daria is showing off her mouth for Lips Appreciation Day, although she usually uses them for snarking rather than for kissing--with one infamous exception. Perhaps she's just asking to borrow Jane's lip gloss. It's kiwi flavored!
If Daria wants to get really out of character, she could also celebrate Act Happy Day! After all, she doesn't like to smile unless she has a reason.
With today being the anniversary of the day the episode "That Was Then, This is Dumb" aired in 1998, this would be a good day to enjoy some nostalgia. I should point out, though, that the episode is now about as far away from the current date as the 60s were from the episode's airdate. Anyone else feel old now?

She'd Far Rather Sting Like a Bee
Daria has decided to take a very hands-on (antennae-on?) approach to Learn about Butterflies Day, but we all know she isn't a social butterfly, so please keep your distance. Amanda Lane has taught Jane all she could want to know about butterflies, largely about how to kill them by holding them too tightly. Or something to that effect.
If Daria gets tired of nectar and wants a snack, there's always National Potato Chip Day. She should check with Brittany to see if she has both flat and ridgy chips!
In fact, asking about chip textures would be a great way to celebrate International Ask a Question Day, especially because Brittany tends to answer questions in a tone of voice that itself sounds like a question. It's like a never-ending circle of questions!

She's Actually Quite Ruthless!
I'm not sure that Grandma Ruth is all that excited about National Ruth Day, but perhaps she's just disappointed that no one has given her girdle money lately. I'm sure she'll feel better once she gets the chance to criticize Helen a few times.
Unfortunately, I suspect Helen will not be home because it's National Working Mom's Day and she's definitely more interested in the "working" part of the holiday. Ruth will just have to give Daria and Quinn all of the passive aggressive comments instead.
With any luck, Camp Grizzly, first seen in the episode "Camp Fear" on this day in 2001, will hold another reunion and give the girls an excuse to leave. Although choosing between staying with Grandma Ruth and spending time with Skip Stevens and Amelia...well, that's a tough call.

Is Someone Attacking a Cat?
While Joey's choice of musical instrument in honor of International Bagpipe Day will certainly get Quinn's attention, I don't think it will be a very positive reaction. Unless he can play some "Boys 'R' Guys" songs on that thing, perhaps.
It's also appropriate that Joey is wearing a kilt, because it's National Skirt Day as well! Daria, meanwhile, will celebrate the same way she does every day: by wearing the same outfit as usual. The Fashion Club will be horrified by the "too long" skirt, unless that kind of thing has come back into style. If it turns out to be fashionable, then Daria will be the one who is horrified.
Finally, today we observe a triple episode anniversary for "The Invitation" in 1997, "Depth Takes a Holiday" in 1999, and "A Tree Grows in Lawndale" in 2000. Apparently March 10th was a good day for teen parties, personified versions of holidays, and motorcycle accidents. Who knew?

Have a Very Passive-Aggressive Day!
Helen and Linda seem to be catching up with each other's lives in honor of International Women's Day, but in reality they're sniffing out the other's weaknesses in order to better destroy their prey. Hooray for women supporting women, I guess!
Perhaps they're both just grouchy from losing an hour of sleep last night due to Daylight Saving Time. If you didn't remember to set your clocks forward by an hour, well, I'm very envious of your improved rest.
No matter how sleepy you feel, there's no excuse for celebrating Be Nasty Day by being unkind to others. Unless you're in the Fashion Club, in which case it is highly encouraged. Like (bitchy) mother, like (bitchy) daughter.

Don't Forget to Remove the Lid if You Cook it in a Conventional Oven!
You'd think Helen is celebrating National Frozen Food Day, but you're wrong for two reasons. First, frozen lasagna is hardly a rare occasion at the Morgendorffer house. Second, I'm deeply skeptical that what they eat could be called "food" in the traditional sense.
I think fandom would be okay to skip National Brian Day, since the only two choices on Daria are Brian Danielson, Erin's sleazy husband, or Brian Taylor, Brittany's psycho little brother. Someone working on the show must have known a Brian who was a real piece of work.
If you decide to observe Employee Appreciation Day today, please also spare a thought for poor Teresa at Junior Five for Salesperson Day as well. That unfortunate woman had the most thankless job ever, possibly second only to Marianne.

The Score is Love-Hate
Daria is being surprisingly athletic in honor of World Tennis Day, especially since normally the most exerting activity she participates in is lifting a hardcover book. Jodie, being on the tennis team, might welcome the support as long as Daria puts more effort into returning serves than she did when playing volleyball.
I just hope she takes care when the ball is in play, because it's Brain Injury Awareness Day and the last thing she wants is to be hit in the head. Tommy Sherman did enough of that at Lawndale High for everyone, and Kevin's probably more concerned with avoiding knee injuries.
If Kevin does get hurt again, at least he has a gig ready for him for National Safety Day. His turn as a motivational speaker for grade school kids was actually kind of heartwarming, even if it didn't last very long.

- The Ex-Fashion Club Comes to a Few Conclusions, by Louisethebeaverwarrior (COMPLETE!): "Despite it being her idea from the start, Quinn still rolled her eyes at herself while she dialed. Daria was probably the worst person to ask about relationship things, but she’d tried Stacy and Tiffany who had, naturally, been no help."
- Spider Quinn 20 The Imitation Tempest, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 7): "It was still quite early when Daria arrived at the Historia. It was early enough that Angie was still setting up the café when she arrived."

How About Reading Across the Living Room?
You might think that Daria is celebrating Read Across America Day, but really she's only interested in Reading Quietly in Solitude Day. The rest of the country can just keep its distance, please and thank you.
If she decides to take a break and wants to earn some money, then she could always man another flea market stand with Jane in honor of Old Stuff Day. On second thought, it might be better to just stay put and avoid the hassle.
On this day in 1998, the episode "Quinn the Brain" first aired. Quinn tried out being "smart" for awhile, and all of fandom melted down over whether or not Daria taking her glasses off and wearing a pink T-shirt made her suddenly hot.
