Other than being the 64th anniversary of D-Day, what else is today? It is the second year since the Day of the Number of the Beast (6/6/06), but we're still here and no Rapture has occurred. Maybe no one qualified. No one from this fandom, certainly.Today is also supposed to be the National Day of Slayer, the death metal rock group. Interesting, as Mr. Spock would say.
This is also the sixth anniversary since the Eastern Mediterranean Event, about which I knew nothing until recently. OMG. Novarupta, a giant Alaskan volcano, erupted this day 96 years ago. Never heard of that before, either. Moscow and Seattle burned down today in the past, but they're mostly back up now.
All of the above events would be great if used together in a Daria fanfic. Anyone up to it?
