Pong? Skyrim? Your Decision!

Happy Video Game Day! Join in the fun with some Cannibal Fragfest, or perhaps a round of Daria's Inferno. (But watch out for those steam tunnels. They suck.) Or you could go all-out with some virtual reality, if Ted's not hogging the machine again.

Today is also Bowman Day. Okay, it isn't technically a real holiday outside of fanfic, but let's celebrate it anyway!

Fanfic Update!
  • 1-800-Feisty! (Scenes no Daria Fanfic should ever have: Monday, Monday), by Smijey (COMPLETE!): "Charles Ruttheimer the Third was reading a book with his legs propped up on the desk in front of him. The phone on the desk began to ring, prompting Upchuck to set the book down and answer it. 'Yello?' he said casually. 'Ah, the divine Miss Morgendorffer! How is college life treating you?'"

  • Apple of His Eye, by Smijey (COMPLETE!): "'Now, where is Daria?' Mad Dog asked, looking expectantly upstairs for the elder daughter. 'At a friend's house,' Jake answered, grateful. 'Made a friend, has she? Small wonder.' He made his way to the couch in the living room and took control of the remote. 'I'll just wait until she comes back.'"

  • Armored Cynic Daria, Episode 2: The 8th Circuit, by RX-87 (part 5): "VITALE: Consider it a warmup. If this situation gets any more out of hand, it is you the civilians will blame, make no mistake. LI: You bastard. I won't be anybody's sacrificial lamb! VITALE: I have three words for you, Angela, and I want you to listen to them very carefully: Bah. Ram. Ewe. Goodbye."

  • Attack of the "Super Brain", by Captain Marbles (part 2): "Quinn watched in horror as Daria's mutant super brain used her psycho powers or whatever to rip the overpass out of the ground and throw it aside like it was nothing! 'She has to be stopped! And there's only one way to do it!'"

  • At the Crossroads...(Chapter 12), by oni (part 2): "After Judy and Frank entered through the front door, Stacy came in behind them. She shared a quick kiss with her girlfriend who she found over by the living room couch and after some small talk with her, walked over to dining room table with her girlfriend in tow. Almost everyone else was seated by time they got over there except for Tom who was bringing the turkey over to the table."

  • DW: The Many Doctors, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 9): "'Report to debriefing,' Landry said. 'Yes, General,' Colonel Cameron Mitchell said. However, something out of the ordinary (for the installation) occurred. A blue box began to appear in the Gateroom..."

  • Dylan, by J-D (part 6): "Dylan stared speechlessly at Tierney Rhode. He bit the inside of his lip to control his reaction. 'Hey, Roddy', the young woman said smoothly and evenly. She looked calmly from her younger brother towards Dylan, causing his throat to seize up."

  • For Our Son (Scenes no Daria Fanfic should ever have: Monday, Monday), by Shiva (COMPLETE!): "Trent looked down and smiled at the sleeping infant, nice and safe in it's makeshift crib, they had been forced to bring Jayne's old one down from the attic and refurbish it."

  • The Hearts Within, by neonhomer (part 5): "Charles sat with his soda in his hand, just looking at the can. 'What’s on your mind?' asked Stacy. 'I can’t believe I’m going to be a father.' Said Charles."

  • The Hunter Home from the Hill, by DeacBlue (part 11): "'Hey, guys, thanks for helping me out in Art.' 'No problem, Britt.' Jane smiled. 'Maybe I can do something for you.' She twirled one of her pigtails around a finger and looked vacantly in front of her. 'You don't have to,' Daria started gently. 'I know!' Brittany squeaked. 'Why don't you come to my party Saturday night?'"

  • Immortal Blood, by Shiva (part 1): "Now, stuck out on a familiar stretch of road on the way home to Crew Neck, Skylar was having to wait for someone to show up to either fix his car or tow it. He began to reach the last dregs of his cigarette and was thinking about lighting up a second one when the wind shifted a bit and he could have sworn there was a strange noise from the woods nearby."

  • Inspiration (New Shared AU: Invertedverse), by Shiva (COMPLETE!): "'So here are your papers,' Mr. O'Neill said in his usual dull monotone, 'If you want them, come get them off my desk, or whatever, it's not like it matters because most of you sucked out loud on this assignment.'"

  • Killing For Art! (Scenes no Daria Fanfic should ever have: Monday, Monday), by Shiva (COMPLETE!): "'JANE WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!' Daria screamed in horror as she entered the Lane's rarely used kitchen and beheld her best friend, Jane Lane standing next to a ridiculously oversized blender, and inside the blender were mewling cute kittens, puppies, birdies, and several gerbils that were used to being crammed into... stuff."

  • Legion of Lawndale Heroes Mini: Scapegrace, by Shiva (part 1): "A flash of bright blue dashed across Spike’s peripheral vision in the flickering light of the Streetlamp next to the bench. He lifted his head, and felt the long black spikes of his hair scrape across his arms, and then froze as adrenaline suddenly pumped through his veins once what he was seeing registered in his excuse for a brain."

  • Little Fluttershop of Horrors, by Erin M. (part 1): "Fluttershy, however, was nowhere near the center of Ponyville at the time. She had been out seeing to the first swimming lessons for a family of otters in a pond near the Everfree Forest. The yellow pegasus was on her way back home, leaving the otters to splash and frolic to their hearts content when the sun was blotted out by the moon. 'What?' she gasped, looking around in panic. 'What's happening?'"

  • Lost and Found, by Reven384 (part 8): "Quinn had no answer as a large part of her longed for death just as strongly as it longed to see her family again. She didn’t have the stomach to kill herself. That was the only reason she still lived. And that was why she built the boat. At least on the boat she has some chance. And if she dies then that means it’s finally over and she won’t be alone anymore."

  • Never Too Late (Iron Chef: Termination Fail), by breitasparrow (COMPLETE!): "Jane was spending the night at Daria's after she got into an argument with her parents. Her mom had told her that she tried to have an abortion when she was pregnant with Jane, and she tried to explain the situation, but Jane didn't want to hear it. While the Morgendorffers were having pizza that evening, Helen went up to Daria's room to try to talk to Jane. She knocked on the door. 'Jane? Can I come in?' she asked."

  • One Little Thing, by peetz5050 (COMPLETE!): "Timothy O'Neill finally broke free of Jodie and Mack who were telling him not to interfere, everyone was having a good time but he was determined. He had not authorized this! It was supposed to be classical music, not this noise! He knew he'd never make himself heard over this crowd (Where did all these kids come from?) so he determined to cut them off from the power... they needed power to run those awful amplifiers, well he'd see about that." (Part 9)

  • Operation Glitterberries, by BF110C4 (part 21): "She would be pressed to defeat these enemies under her particular circumstances and if the situation was different she would be glad not to be found and just gather whatever intel she could before calling it a day, but if she allowed herself to cower before a couple of unsuspecting goons she might as well save her enemies the trouble and perform an unassisted lobotomy on herself. Using a wooden spoon..."

  • Pink and Black (Scenes no Daria Fanfic should ever have: Monday, Monday), by Roentgen (COMPLETE!): "Finally, Daria unconcealed herself. She stepped from behind the wardrobe screen. She wore black stockings, leather boots with high heels, a garter belt, tiny black panties, long black gloves and a black lace corset. Around her neck was a spiked collar. 'Wow! Cool! Daria, I didn't know you were so - !' Kevin almost got the word 'hot' out of his mouth, but his libido died when Daria pulled the bullwhip of of a repair drawer."

  • Sexy Daria: Sexy Cute Models, by Shiva (part 2): "There was a secondary crowd of ‘popular’ girls and they were all gossiping at once about something, or someone in the center of the storm. • Shipping out Pt 2 (Scenes no Daria Fanfic should ever have: Monday, Monday), by Slime Stack (COMPLETE!): "Director: Where is everyone else for this fanfic? Ted: A little busy digging themselves out of an unfortunate building collapse Director: Oh, well, lets use you"

  • Star Trek: Daria - Resurrection, by echopapa (part 3): "'Aside from the fact that they didn't have these...cryoships when I died, I never agreed to...oh, no!' Daria recalled the time in her senior year in high school when she and Jane had each entered a contest that Sick, Sad World was running with a million dollar first prize. She had won one of the third prizes instead, which was a free cryonic suspension upon death. She didn't believe in cryonic technology, and after she and Jane had gotten a good laugh out of it, she had just tossed the paperwork in a drawer and had forgotten about it."

  • Unexpected Hookup: A Bigger Bite, by Shiva (part 3): "Breakfast at the Morgendorffers was an unusually quiet affair, Daria noticed that her father wasn’t yelling at the comic strips and had completely buried his head in the paper and worried for a second that Aunt Rita had called. One look at her mother revealed that wasn’t the case, she wasn’t suppressing years of pent up sibling rivalry behind a mask of sweet words."

  • Unnamed story (Iron Chef: Termination Fail), by BrownEyedBagel (COMPLETE!): "'My name is Quinn Morgendorffer. My sister is Daria Morgendorffer. She is smart, honest and kinda weird. • Unnamed story (PLOT BUNNIES II: Still furry, Still free), by Roentgen (COMPLETE!): "Both of them noticed a bum sitting in the alley. They stopped walking. First, given Lawndale's draconian public vagrancy laws it was rare to see a bum anywhere. Second, the bum was Kevin."

  • The Val/Shar Connection (Scenes no Daria Fanfic should ever have: Monday, Monday), by Shiva (COMPLETE!): "Dr. Vulma Shar snickered at what her niece had had to say about the visit of 'Val' as in Val to Lawndale High."

  • Wednesday Afternoon, by peetz5050 (parts 1 and 2): "As they were speaking they got to the exit and Claire punched her code into the keypad to open the door. There seemed to be a lot of sirens this afternoon, maybe there was a fire someplace. Claire held the door for Jane who stepped through just as a car ripped into the carpark with sparks shooting from it's back wheel which had only a few shreds of tire hanging off the rim." (Part 2)

  • White Light White Heat, by LongSnakeMoan (COMPLETE!): "''Nita, what's the full story on this case before we get there. All Sarge told me over the phone was that I needed to meet up with you to question the wife of a suspect arrested on second degree rape charges. He said this case was likely to go national and that you knew the facts so far.'"
