I'm thinking that this particular critter isn't feeling up to participating in Race Your Mouse Day, but I'd like to see how you feel after spending days in the company of Brian Taylor. Of course, since the holiday most likely refers to computer mice, I don't think this poor lab rat needs to exert itself after all.
When you're done using your mouse pad as a racetrack, you could celebrate National Burger Day with one or even two jumbo burgers if you feel like following in Jane's footsteps. Or you could put one into your boots to enjoy the squishy feeling.
If you're in a reading mood, you might pick up War and Peace in honor of the anniversary of Leo Tolstoy's birth on this day in 1828. Don't expect to finish it in a hurry, though, and whatever you do don't pester him for a sequel!
Fanfic Update!
- Heavenly Wine and Roses, by riotsquirrrl (part 10): "Nearly two years later, Tom is sailing his aunt's training catboat down the coast. It was too warm on land but here he is lost in the spray and the sun and the cries of gulls."
- A Sartorial Abomination (1998), by scaryfangirl2001 (COMPLETE!): "March 1998 in Leeville, Virginia. The air, usually crisp with the lingering chill of winter, now hangs heavy inside the bridal shop, thick with the cloying sweetness of potpourri and the faint scent of stale lace."
- Star Trek: Voyager Alone, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 2): "In sickbay, the automated systems scanned Kes and the triage programs examined her injuries. They determined that the Emergency Medical Hologram didn't need to be activated, rather that a Nurse DOT could treat her."
