It was on this day in 1869 that the Golden Spike was driven at Promontory Summit in Utah. This marked the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad, which was the first railroad to connect the east and west coasts of the United States. Just a little something for the train fans out there--you know who you are!
Fanfic Update!

- Andrea's Tears, by BrownEyedBagel (COMPLETE!): "I’ll be honest, what he is wearing... it doesn’t really suit him. His tux matches him as well as the wedding dress goes with me. The only reason were doing this is because my mother has been fantasizing about this day since I was born."
- Apathymorphs: The Invasion, by JoeMerl (part 2): "[They are parasites,] the alien explained. [They—UGH!] Another blast of pain went through us; I saw the alien’s chest rise and fall rapidly, the slits on his face expanding with effort. [They live in the bodies of hosts. In this form they are known as Controllers. They enter the brain and connect to its neurons and synapses, taking over their minds and bodies.] 'Wait—you mean like people?' Jodie said in amazement. 'There are aliens on Earth—living inside people’s brains?'"
- At the Crossroads...(Chapter 9), by oni (part 2): "When Tori finally got up to them to speak, she could only get a couple words out before Stacy grabbed her and pushed her up against the lockers. (Part 3)
- Crossing The Legion (Hell is Crossed People), by Brother Grimace (COMPLETE!): "'...Here comes the kick - and it's GOOD!' - Darryl (PLOT BUNNIES: free to good home), by DeacBlue: "'I'll try to help Quinn through this difficult period of adjustment, Dad. See you.' - Ethan Yeager in Lawndale: Ch 4 Power to the Snark, by Shiva (parts 1 and 2): "'I have to admit that I’m still impressed that Trent and your Dad were willing to risk life, limb, and the Lexus into order to find us.' As they staggered, she drew her primed crossbow in a smooth motion and fired twice. A pair of thwips, and the newly disarmed duo went down in drowsed drug derived daze. Question blinked. Accidental alliteration. Need to sleep soon. ... There it is again. Damn."
