Daria Muppetdorffer
Daria looks way too happy to be dressed as a Muppet, but in fairness it's Sesame Street Day and it's hard to be grumpy around the Sesame Street crew--Oscar aside, that is. For a Sesame Street/Daria crossover that's both sweet and funny, read D is for Daria by Mike Xeno.
Don't forget to...uh...do something...what was it? Oh, right! Remember to celebrate National Forget-Me-Not Day! I don't think Mr. O'Neill will be celebrating this one, given his absolutely terrible memory for student's names. Aside from, oddly enough, Trent Lane.
Just as long as Mr. O'Neill doesn't forget the name of Lawndale High's science teacher, because if he forgets Ms. Barch then today will not be World Science Day for Peace and Development. The "science" part might be there, as an experiment on how much pain her boyfriend can handle before passing out.

R is for Reading!
Just look how happy/creepy Daria is about today being the anniversary of the beloved children's TV show Sesame Street! The show first aired on this day in 1969, and for a Daria/Sesame Street fanfic crossover that's both funny and heartwarming, check out D is for Daria by Mike Xeno.
If you're in the mood for more children's nostalgia, curl up with an old favorite from your youth for Young Readers Day! Daria will probably pull out her old copy of Black Beauty, but I'm sure it just isn't the same without the cardboard box to sit in.
Fanfic Update!
- Bearing the Summer, by Lady Evil (part 14): "The campers and counselor’s from the Pink Cabin were gathered by the pier in swimwear. 'OK,' said Amelia. 'Who knows a good swimming safety rule?' No one volunteered. 'Come on! One of you has to know something! Joanna?'"
- Commitment Issues, by fringeperson (COMPLETE!): "Something was bothering Daria. It was keeping her up too, which was frustrating even if it was Friday night and she didn't have to think of school tomorrow."
- Daria: Winter Is Coming, by Meester_Lee (part 17): "RIkka Morgendorffer came home from school and knocked on the front door. Her Dad opened it; Rikka saw that he was wearing a dress shirt, grey trousers, and necktie. Uh-oh, she thought."
- The Engineer and the Time Lady, by cfardell_Brenorenz29 (part 7): "Alpha heard a noise. She turned and saw Nina enter the Bridge. She saw that she had rested and smiled. 'You are ready for duty?'"
- The Imitation, by Kristen Bealer (part 1): "'Brittany invited me to her party.' Daria, still looking at Jane's sketchbook, glanced at her friend out of the corner of her eye to see how she'd react. She wasn't disappointed."
- Life Goes On, by WildDogJJ (parts 13 and 14): "Daria Morgendorffer, then a grad student at Boston State, was coming home from a day of studying and classes toward her PhD. She entered the apartment that she shared with her best friend, Jane." (Part 14)
- The More Things Change... (Iron Chef: Daria Characters React to 2020), by welltemperedclavier (COMPLETE!): "'Thank God.' Helen almost didn't hear her own words over Jake's enthusiastic cheering at the computer as CNN declared Joe Biden the projected winner of the 2020 election."
- Vampires, by Accelaa (part 1): "'...Your assignment will be due next Thursday, the first day of the fair. Does anyone have any questions...?'"

Muppets and that...that...Grunge!
Daria's only freaking us all out because she's celebrating the anniversary of Muppet creator Jim Henson's birth on this day in 1936. For extra Muppet fun, read Erin M's "The Muppet Show: Cynicism & Violence" and Mike Xeno's "D is for Daria."
Today is also the anniverary of Nirvana's Nevermind, released on this day in 1991. Without Nirvana, there would be no Mystik Spiral, and without Mystik Spiral there would be no "Icebox Woman." Wait, what was my point?

She's Almost (but Not Quite) Huggable!
Daria's here in one of her most disturbing alter egos because it's the anniversary of Muppet creator Jim Henson's birth in 1936. Creepy as that image might be, I still think it's better than Elmo. There. I said it.

Tickle This, Birthday Boy
Daria's in one of her more disturbing alter egos in honor of Sesame Street character Elmo's birthday. Love him or hate him (and I think more people lean toward the latter), the little red muppet has had a big impact on children.

This Blog Post Was Brought to You By the Letter "D"!
Daria's wishing an enthusiastic happy birthday to the late Jim Henson, who was born on this day in 1936. I'm not sure which is creepier: the fact that Daria is morphing into a muppet or the smile on her face.
This is also the anniversary of the Nirvana album Nevermind, which was released on this day in 1991. Trent is probably interested in this one, although Quinn is cringing as we speak over "that...that...grunge."

A Muppet Kind of Day
Today is the 72nd anniversary of the birth of Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets (like Daria at left). Wonder what character Daria is trying to portray. Grover? Cookie Monster? She's even smiling. Erin Mills wrote a wonderful Muppet Show crossover with Daria and Jane, which you have to read today.Today is also an anniversary day in UFOlogy, that being the day 61 years ago that President Truman is alleged to have gotten the Majestic 12 thinger going. Has anyone done a fanfic on this? Why not?

THE PPMB Ringbearer Discussion thread continues.
For your daily dose of PPMB rudeness, go to Scenes No Daria Fanfic Should Have-Who's Holding Daria Now? and of course The 1,001 Deaths of Tom Sloane.
Big news: Glenn Eichler's post-Daria work wins an Emmy!
Predictable news: SFMB is being assaulted by evil spambots. Again.
More soon. Stick around.
