"Are you ready to par-tay crazy?"

Bing and/or Spatula Man (does it really matter which is which?) is prepared to celebrate Radio Day...whether anyone wants him to or not. Just so we're clear, the answer is not. To read about radio that's actually entertaining, check out Ken Tremberth and Erin Mills's "Free Radio Lawndale."

While you're trying to tune out the Mental in the Morning DJs, you might visit the Big Strawberry in honor of National Tourism Day. It's the only tourist attraction Lawndale has, so you might as well make the most of it!

Then we can wish a happy National Teacher’s Day to all of the faculty at Lawndale High. Honestly, though, they'd rather just have higher pay, fewer demands from Ms. Li, or just some basic human dignity.

At Least She'll Be Safe from the Reds!

It's Crush a Can Day, and I'm sure Daria would love to try, given the lack of can openers available. If only Kevin and his can-crushing head were there--I'm sure he'd actually be useful for once!

This is also World Tourism Day, when everyone should leave their comfort zone, get out into the world, and meet new people! I think I just figured out what Daria's doing in the bomb shelter.

Pouring on the Potpourri

Daria's plastic model at left (taken from her room without permission) reminds us that today is World Heart Day. Take care of yours, please.

Kevin's alter ego at right reminds us that this is the 124th anniversary of the birth of stage magician Blackstone, Sr.

Today is also National Chocolate Milk Day, but I was unable to find a Daria-ish image to represent that. Just make a glass of it and celebrate.

Jane's multiarmed avatar of a Hindu deity at left reminds us that today is World Tourism Day. Which deity is she, though? She is holding the mace Kaumodaki, so she might well be Vishnu. I hope this image is not sacrilegious. Sacrilegious stuff belongs in fanfics.

Just 104 years ago, Annalen der Physik published a paper called "Does the Inertia of a Body Depend Upon Its Energy Content?" by some guy named Einstein, which described the relationship of energy, mass, and motion, represented by the equation E=mc². This turned out to have quite an effect on world history, particularly in the Geekdom of Nerdland. Atomic Space Trent reminds us of this event at the bottom right.

That should about close it out. Oh, Avril Lavigne turns 25 today, but she only shows up in Canadibrit's fanfics as the musical background.

Have a good one!

See the World, Meet New People, Make Fun of Them

Today is World Tourism Day, which Daria is celebrating by going to Zimbabwe, mostly just to be as far from Quinn as possible.

GEEK ALERT! Today is also the 103rd anniversary of the publication of Albert Einstein's paper that first revealed the equation,

which everyone has heard of even if they don't know anything about physics or math. Party on most righteously, dudes!
