Daria and Trent's alter ego today is an homage to the film Casablanca, which premiered on this day in 1942. The film also got a brief reference in "Quinn the Brain," when Brittany accuses Kevin of being a "high school Casablanca!" I'm pretty sure she meant "casanova," but a ref is still a ref...as time goes by.
Also, happy birthday to the late Charles M. Schulz, who was born on this day in 1922. Schulz was the cartoonist who created the popular comic strip Peanuts, which inspired this little exchange from "Jake of Hearts":
Daria: Good grief.
Jane: It's lame deejays, Charlie Brown!
