She's No Grizzly, but She'll Definitely Be Growling

Daria is at the very last place she wants to be because it's National Camp Day and therefore her own personal hell. If she thinks it's bad now, just wait until they get out the watermelon.

I would suggest that she hide in the bathroom with her old friend Talking Toilet for World Toilet Day, but that's not a good idea, either. I suspect the quality of the camp bathrooms (if they have any) is worse than Skip Stevens's singing voice.

Instead, maybe she could see if anyone brought any board games so she can ignore Skip and celebrate Play Monopoly Day. I'm sure Amelia would be happy to play, although that isn't necessarily a selling point for Daria.

Don't Forget to Wash Your Hands!

Daria's going to spend a bit of quality time with her friend the Talking Toilet in honor of World Toilet Day, but hopefully she'll let someone else have a turn if they need it. Jake might also be spending some quality time with the toilet, but only because he still can't remember to check for toilet paper before he gets started.

I'm sure he'll be out in time to celebrate International Men's Day, though, but don't tell Ms. Barch about it. Please do tell any smartasses who like to complain about International Women's Day by claiming they don't get their own holiday, however. It probably won't shut them up, but it's worth a shot.

Once both Daria and Jake are out of the bathroom, they can play a friendly board game for Play Monopoly Day! We all know how it'll end, though: Jake will start losing badly and begin bargaining away punishments in order to save his skin. Go get him, Daria!

No Toilets in the Woods, I'm Afraid!

Daria's spending some quality time with her good friend Talking Toilet for World Toilet Day, and I hope Jake's celebrating by checking the toilet paper supply before he sits down. We don't need another parade fiasco.

Today is also National Camp Day, so the Morgendorffers might make the ill-advised choice to spend another week-end in the woods. If so, Helen will definitely be checking the toilet paper supply before they go.

Daria's getting up close and personal with her friend Talking Toilet for World Toilet Day. I'm not sure it'll be much of a conversation, though. Daria's not much of a talker and I suspect I wouldn't like to hear the things a toilet has to say.

Happy Birthday, Daria! (Part 1)

Today is Daria Morgendorffer's birthday. It's the day that Richard Lobinske picked out for his various fanfics, anyway, so we'll use it for now. Glancing at the birthday photo at right (from The Daria Diaries), we see that Daria wasn't a particularly happy, cheerful, or carefree child even at age one. Quinn's birth was not far away, however, so perhaps she sensed trouble.

Using the most likely birth year for Daria from Richard's exhaustive chronological study, she would be 27 today. This varies, however, even with Richard's stories. Take your pick.

P.S. Today is also the 145th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, well worth rereading. It is also World Toilet Day today, but we are not going there despite all the disgusting Beavis and Butt-head pictures and stories I could use, oh the horror. That poor Holiday Island High teen.
