It's the Fourth of July! "Duh," I hear some of you saying (because this is a magic blog and I can hear you out there), "and tomorrow is the fifth of July." Ah, but in the United States the fourth of July happens to be Independence Day! That's the day when we uppity colonials cut ties with England after years of frustration with restrictive rules about taxation and representation and whether it's okay to stay out past curfew if we promise to call if we'll be home after midnight. Relations have improved a bit since then, but we still get to stay up as late as we want, darn it!The traditional means of celebrating Independence Day is to buy a bunch of fireworks (possibly crossing state lines to do so) and attempt to seriously injure yourself setting them off. For some reason, Kevin Thompson comes to mind. If you'd like a safer way to amuse yourself today, here are a few fanfics that take place on the Fourth of July:
