The Invisible Ancestor
Time for another bizarre patrilineal ancestor of Sandi Griffin, and this one has a habit of disappearing on people at the worst times.
H.G. Wells's novel, The Invisible Man, introduced an albino scientist named Griffin who discovered a formula for turning himself invisible. His story (both in the original and in a famous 1933 movie staring Claude Rains, shown at left) is told at this link.
A couple of things are interesting here. Sandi might discover a vial containing some of the invisibility formula and use it, or she might discover the notes and recreate it on her own (less likely, she's not that bright). An AU Sandi might also be smarter but with the same personality, or else share the gene for albinism her ancestor had.
