Computer is back, not in good shape

Well, I'm back online but will need all weekend to get things sorted out. The upgrade was good but the damage to Windows was not fixed, and the system is wonky in lots of little ways.

Anyway, before long I will be caught up with updates on the fandom and so forth. Sorry for the delays. Hope everyone is well, haven't read PPMB/SFMB yet. Peace out, yo.

Oh, and if I counted correctly, article #1,800 on DariaWiki was by Brother Grimace: Flush. A very, um, attractive name, that.

I suggest you back up any important data and then format the hard drive and re-install Windows. I do it myself every six to nine months, just in case.

Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

I back up all my Daria fandom stuff every so often. It's the only stuff on my computer that's worth anything to me. Gotta have a hobby.

I got a wonky machine also. Got it somewhat cleaned up, but Windows update keeps trying to install, says it does, then tries to install again. Did a scannow to clean up the system files and that went through o.k. Right now am backing up stuff and will try a half measure: doing a repair install of XP. That doesn't work, then it's full nuke and load up a pile of drivers. a friend asked me why I haven't upgraded to Vista, which is the new Windows ME...

If your system has the power to run it then I would suggest Vista.

Most of the people who trash Vista either haven't used it or tried to use it on sub par systems.

Microsoft needs to raise the min installation requirments for it to prevent all the complaints. But if you need to keep track of anything from word documents to pictures it's file index system is the next best thing to having everything on an SQL

I'm one of those Windows XP nutbars. Upgrading just wears me out.
